    I removed the my docs/ninja 7 folder
    I reinstalled ninja
I remembered to keep my license key handy so I could copy and paste it.

    I restarted ninja.
I did not choose to migrate info because the last time I did that it took me 30 minutes.
I went to connect live to open a YM chart but "live connection" is not listed in the connections.

How do I re set up the zenfire live connection that I had before.

@toddaclark, please uninstall/re-install NinjaTrader once more using the same instructions I provided earlier. Do not forget to clear your browser cache after you uninstalled NinjaTrader and before you re-install NinjaTrader. Development has fixed the issue and updated the download link. Once you re-installed, the issue should not occur anymore when 'snap mode' is set to Price.

In addition, you can find a Zen-Fire connection guide at the following link.

@Goodlife, please start a new thread in the future.

The error indicates the current NinjaScript files contain errors, which need to resolved first before you can import new NinjaScript files.

Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling any indicator or strategy. This will allow you to debug the indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. If you’re wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator or strategy, it is because NinjaTrader compiles all indicators and strategies. Not just one.

        1) Open NinjaTrader

        2) From the Control Center -> Tools -> Edit NinjaScript -> Indicator

        3) Select an indicator and double click on it.

        4) A new window will appear and you will need to right click and compile the indicator.

        5) At the bottom of the window a new section will appear were you can find the error locations. Double click the error and you will be directed to the location of the error.

        6) From there you have the option to debug the indicator or remove it. You can delete NinjaScript files via Tools-->Edit NinjaScript-->Indicator/Strategy, highlight it and select Delete

You can find general debug information at the link below.

          Jason,

Ok.. I'll un-install and reinstall again.
Should I delete the ninjatrader 7 my documents folder again or not?
Should I restore the backup that I did this morning after I reinstall ninja?

            @NinjaTrade_Jason

Thank You for Your reply. The Debugger shows several errors in the "NinjaTrader.Vendor*", always error code "CS0118".
Can I delete this script or is it neede for something?

@toddaclark, you can leave the My Documents folder as is.

If you like to restore your settings and data, please restore the backup file you created earlier.

@Goodlife, can you please right click in the NinjaScript Editor window and select References. Do you see the Vendor.dll listed? If so, please delete it (Delete button) and subsequently re-add (Add button) the reference. You can find the NinjaTrader.Vendor.dll at (My) Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->bin-->Custom

If you do not see the Vendor.dll initially listed, please add it as well.

Compile your NinjaScript files once more and check if the error persists.

                    Jason,

I restored the backup file. It took 25minutes then it gave me a message saying "could not restore ninjascript files because it would corrupt your installation" and now it's just hanging up..

                    Frustrating...

Unfortunately the backup file is corrupted as per the error message. Please leave the backup file and rebuild your setup.

I suspect the issue corrupted your settings and thus the backup file that contains your saved settings is corrupted as well. Our apologies for the inconvience.

                        Jason,

I've finally finished rebuilding all of my stuff. I hope everything goes smoothly from here. Wow...what a day.

After I finished building all of my stuff, I did a backup. When that was done, I noticed that the data file was empty. I have a data file saved on my desktop from Friday with dates ranging from Friday back thru the beginning of the year. What is all of that data? Is it just market replay data or is it data that NT pulls from when it loads historical data for my charts when I'm connected live?

If it's just data for market replay purposes, Do I need to keep 5 days, 10 days.. I do want the charts to have enough days to calculate pivots, etc.

I thought of keeping the past 5 days and dumping the rest of it.

                        Please advise.
                        Thanks,
                        Todd

P.S. The developers may have fixed that "snap to price" bug but I'm not going to even go near the "snap to price". After 9.5 straight hours of fixing NT, I'm a little gun shy.

Jason may be gone for the day. Can someone else answer my latest question?

                          Thanks,
                          Todd

                            Todd,

I am not sure what data you are referring to. NinjaTrader saves data in Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db folder. Market Replay files will be in the \data folder and historical chart data would be in \day, \minute, and \tick. If you just want Pivots to calculate correctly you would want to save the historical chart data. Market Replay data is only used for the Market Replay and would not correspond with allowing you to have historically calculated Pivots or not.

                              Josh,

I'm referring to the data in My Documents/NT7/DB/Data. Inside this data folder is a subfolder for 7/1/10, 6/30/10, etc... all the way back to December 1st of 2009.

What is this data and do I need it all?

All files and folders inside the \data folder are Market Replay files. If you use Market Replay and want those files, keep them. If you don't, then there is no reason to keep them.
