External Data Source and Sim

i am connected through a external data source. when i send some orders (say a market order) in sim101 account the status remains as Working. is that by default or is a bug.

Can you please tell me what data provider you are attempting to connect to within NinjaTrader such as TradeStation, IB, etc.

Are you receiving data for the instrument you are attempting to trade?

thanks for the response. as i said i am using a custom data feed and connecting it via the External Data Feed (File > Connect > External Data Feed) and not using any broker like IB or so. I am just trading SIM101.

but i think i figured out the answer. its a expected feature as NT6.5 is also exhibiting the same functionality and the orders are in Working state.

heres a follow up

I am connected with an External Data Feed (custom made).

when i put a buy limit order it remains in working state even prices goes below the limit price. (see attached pic).

this is the case with both NT6.5 & NT7

Within your screen shot I do not see any real time data for the Bid and Ask only the Last price is displayed. If you open the SuperDOM do you show market data for this instrument? In order to execute the order data would be required.

as i said its a custom made external data feed and only last price (and volume) is pushed. no bid or ask data is pushed.

if i place a market order the same is executed. but the issue is with limit orders.

Unfortunately this is expected behavior when no Bid or Ask data is available. Please connect to the Simulated Data Feed connection and let me know if the issue persists when receive Bid/Ask data.
