    Not able to remove assemblies

    Hi
I use NT 7.16 and wanted to install the .17 version.
According to your manual, one should delete all assemblies first. But when I want to do that, I got an error message that I would have custom NS files with errors on my PC which I am supposed to delete first.
I am not aware of custom NA files. How can I check this, please.

    Kind Regards

    Hello orchiscell,

Please compile your NinjaScript files to check which indicators contain the errors.

    1) Open NinjaTrader
    2) From the Control Center -> Tools -> Edit NinjaScript -> Indicator
    3) Select any indicator and double click on it.
    4) A new window will appear and you will need to right click and compile the indicator. All NinjaScript files will now be compiled, not just the indicator you opened.

It will list the indicators/strategies that contain errors at the bottom. I suggest to delete the indicators/strategies that contain errors or debug them.

Subsequently you should be able to compile your NinjaScript files without error and remove assemblies.

Please further note that removing the assembly steps would only be required when upgrading from B15 or earlier. Since you are already on B16 you would not need to do this step.

        @Josh: Sorry, I meant I have version 7.15

@Jason: When I compile, it shows me that the file

        NinjaTrader.Vendor.cs

is the one which causes the problem. Where can I delete this file, because I could not find such an indicator or strategy...

        Thx

Problem importing NA files in NT7

I was trying to install an NA in NT7 and i got the same msg as earlier posted in this thread " you have custom Ninjascript files on your PC that have programming errors. These errors must be resolved before you can import a Ninjascript Archive file. I followed the above instructions for compiling all scripts and it gave me a grid below saying that 2 scripts have the same ID but did not give the script names. Please se attached .doc for grid details. How can i fix this?

This is a fresh and new install of beta 17 no earlier NT7 was installed on my computer. only NT6.5

          Regards

@orchiscell, can you please tell me what the error message exactly states or post a screenshot.

            Please try the steps below.
            • Right click in the code window and select References.
            • In the References menu, press 'Add' to open a browse window where you will select a file to reference.
            • In that window, navigate to the following path: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > bin > Custom
            • In the Custom folder, select 'NinjaTrader.Vendor.dll', then press 'Open'.
            • Finally, right click in the code window and recompile.
@Djinn, can you please right click in the code window and select References as well. Remove any reference that is not part of NinjaTrader or .NET. I have included a screenshot of the references which you can leave.

Subsequently hit F5 in the NinjaScript Editor menu to compile all your NinjaScript files and check if all compiles successful.

                Hello Jason

the suggestions from you worked and I was able to do the necessary steps before installing the new version (now 7.18).

But now I have a new problem. The installed version works fine in 32b modus, but gives me the following errors in 64b modus (which I usually use):
Unable to connect to database c:\users\......\NinjaTrader.sdf": ObjectSpace: Connecting String is invalid - Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation

                then it shuts down.

How can I fix that ?

                Kind Regards

                  Hello orchiscell,

Can you please proceed as per the instructions outlined at the link below.

The error indicates you likely have an outdated version of SQL installed.
