Prevx declares NT-7 downloaders have malware

Prevx, a new kind of malware detection utility, posted a warning that the NT7 beta downloaders, from version 14 through 17, include the Trojan.Agent.Gen virus. It was first detected by Prevx on April 18, 2010 on computers in the NetherLands and Canada.

Earlier downloaders that were safe had file size 215,112 bytes. The infected downloader has file size 251,464 bytes.

Attached are two screenshots of the analysis by Prevx. I sent an email to [email protected] about this, but only received an auto-response. If the graphic viewer does not immediately show the image, simply double-click inside the picture box to bring up the image.

Thanks again for reporting.

We ran our installer files against 7 different AV programs and all but Prevx reported that the install files were clean. The behaviours that Prevx reported are all expected by our installer. We have sent them information to contest their report.

Update:

PrevX has corrected the false positive and reports the NinjaTrader installer as clean and free of any virus.
