suggestion - line

I sometimes draw horizontal lines on my charts at a new support or resistance area. However, the horizontal line are only applicable from the anchor point moving forward. If I look backwards to past data on my chart, I don't want to see them. Showing the line against past data when that new higher high didn't exis just creates visual noise and it makes it hard for me to see things that I need to see with the price bar patterns.

Could you create a version of the horizontal line type or a property on the horizontal line that only shows the line from the draw point extending right and not left?

Todd, thanks for the suggestion - have you tried working with the Ray for this? It would extend right and you could set Start and End Y points directly for example in the data tab, works for me for this purpose here.

Hi Bertrand,

I do use ray when I'm drawing wedges, and lines that are not horizontal. But if I'm drawing a bunch of horizontal lines, it's a little bit of a pain to use ray because it's takes a little work to get the thing to be horizontal...at least if you are moving fast.

Also, I use an indicator which gives me an audio alert if a horizontal line is breached and that wouldn't work if I was using the ray instead of the line.

So, if an option could be added to the horizontal line property to extend right only from the anchor that would help me. This doesn't seem like it would be hard to program as an option.

Here is an indicator that works with both rays and horizontal lines. Alarms can be set for price crossings...

Ditto on extend right option for horizontal lines

Bertrand I have a great need for that convenience (have spent the last 45 minutes trying to find just that solution. If you enable extend right only for horizontal lines, also create an extend left only option. It would put the cream on NT indicator lines if a name can be given that can be located left center of right of the active screen, can be easily made visible or invisible, and if invisible can be peak at quickly to see what the line is.
