Chart Date not lined up with the Start of the Session Time

The Date marker at the bottom of the charts does not line up with the beginning time of the trading session. For example, a 10 minute chart of SP500 starts at 6:40 PST for the first candle, but on my chart it lines up with candles at 7:30 or 8:30 depending on what the zoom of the chart happens to be. It makes it confusing to glance at the chart and recognize where the day started.

Sorry if this is already reported, I couldn't find a thread that mentioned it.

    Thanks!

    Hello brickf,

Please note that NinjaTrader timestamps candles at the closing price. So the 6:40 candle contains data from 6:30:00 till 6:39:59. More information can be found at the link below under 'Understanding the variables involved in building chart bars'.

Yes, 6:40 would be correct for this candle as the first bar of the market. Why does the date designating the beginning of a new day line up with the candles at 7:30 or 8:30 instead of 6:40 which is the beginning of the session?

You will need to decompress the X-axis and the date will be reflected for the first bar of the day, see screenshot.

If you compress the X-axis, the date will be listed for the first vertical grid line for that day.

You can (de)compress the X-axis by click and hold the left mouse button below the X-axis and move left or right.

Yes, you have to decompress to see it. With 6.5 the date always lined up with the first candle of the day regardless of what compression the chart was at.

I would like to see it work the same as 6.5. It's confusing as the date is no longer a valuable reference to find the first candle of the session.

          Thanks!
