    NT7 Beta 17 Extremely slow and/or hangs ...

Since installing 17, I've had a lot more system problems where NT7 is very slow or hangs.

I was just in Charts and saved a Workspace and it took about 3 minutes. I thought it was hung.

I'm running XP Home SP3, 960mb memory, 1.70 GHZ cpu, 33% free HD space.

Is this enough hardware to run NT7?

Are there any known NT7 memory/hanging problems?

    Hello brooksrimes,

    Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately you currenty do not meet our minimum PC requirements which would cause performance issues you are currently experiencing such as slow load speeds.

I have provided a link below that goes over Minimum PC Requirements.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

The memory is 94% of the requirement. The cpu is lacking at 70% of the required speed.

Still, I wasn't having these issues with Beta 16. It started with 17. I may be upgrading my hardware soon.

          Chris,

I'm not sure I want to do this. I do a lot of testing with my historical data.

Can you tell me what data provider you are connecting to within NinjaTrader? Also did you import historical data or is your historical data being provided by your data provider?

I did trials with Mirus and IQFeed and saved historical data during those trials. None of the data was imported, it all came through the connections.

Do you currently have access to a live connection with either Mirus or IQFeed?

No I don't. I opened one yesterday with Gain to do some Forex backtesting.

Please close all your open workspaces by going to the Control Panel-->File-->Workspaces-->Close Workspace

After you have closed all workspaces please create a new workspace by going to the Control Center-->File-->Workspaces-->New Workspace

Within the new workspace please open a new chart with no template or indicators applied and let me know if the issue persists.

What are the hardware requirements of NT7 that are recommended looking ahead now and for 20 months?
That is, NOT the minimum requirements, but significantly higher.

What version of Windows 7 is recommended? Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate?

Thanks (sorry if this was asked already)

                        Hello,

This is Brett following up for Chris.

We have no recommended specs as what each trader needs is different.

Essentially the more processing power and RAM you can get the better off you will be.

All versions os Windows are supported anyone will work!

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Windows 7 is supported. You can indeed use it with no problem.
