    Range Chart glitch

I have been using range 4 charts on the 6E.
Every so often and often when I have entered a trade, up to 4 candles form in a quick flicker that seems to replicate the previous 4 candles.
It is frustrating to trade with these conditions particularly when I realize they are not real otherwise my stop would have been hit if they were real.
    Thanks

    Hello raycam,

Can you please tell me to what connectivity provider you connect.

Please tell me a what time (+ time zone) you experienced this behavior last.

In addition, what happens if you reload the historical data in the chart? Does the 'replicated data' disappear or does it remain?

      Mirus futures Zenfire.
Though I live in Australia I have my computer set to New York time.
Yes- When I reload the glitch is sorted out.
      Thanks

        Hello raycam,

I wanted to test the same data using Market Replay data, however I cannot download Market Replay data for this morning yet.

Can you recall what time you experienced the issue before the occurrence at 12:22 AM today?

Do you see any similarities between the occurrences?

I can not recall the time- only that it was yesterday. The similarities are that there appears to be a stair stepping effect that you can see on the pic.
There is a flash on the chart that does not seem to effect the DOM at all. but its frustrating trying to understand chart trader as price appears to have lept forward creating a whole new low and stair step up to the actual price.
That has happened both time but only with range charts.

            Hello raycam,

Can you please confirm you have the latest beta version installed (7.0.0.17). You can check this at Help-->About.

I have not been able to reproduce this issue on my end yet. Please let me know when the issue recurs and tell me the time of occurrence (+ time zone)

Here is another instance of the candle jumping error. This time I have included a pic with the timestamps visible. Please note- this is a 21range chart... the 2nd candle may look small but there is a massive amount of ticks for it to appear in a second and then begin a third candle.

                  Hello raycam,

Please note that NinjaTrader acts like a radio reciever and displays the data it receives. Could it be you received a bad tick in real-time that caused this bar to be created? Please go to Tools-->Historical Data Manager and select the Edit-tab. Check what tick data is reflected for the period in question.

I created a chart for the 6E 09-10. However it does not display that bar. Note that it is loaded as historical data on my end. Am I correct data is changed for this period if you reload historical data?

I tested the Market Replay connection for the same period, but it did not display this bar either - it displayed the same data as the historical data.

Jason, here is a pic of the relevant ticks. As you can see there was nothing wrong with them. You are correct in assuming that when I reload it sorts itself out.
The problem seems to happen at the end of some range bars, as it forms another it leaps forward with the same time stamp but with wild differences in price.

                      Hello raycam,

We will need to determine if you receive bad data that causes the candle or if this is a charting issue with range bars.

Could you please open up a T&S window (or a 1 tick chart). Subsequently check the T&S window once the issue recurs - verify if the candle can be justified by the data you receive in the T&S window.

It happened again today but When I tried to get a 1 tick chart up the system seized and I had to shut down. I have noticed that it only happens when I enter a trade at the end of a candle. Have you tried that in SIM?Get up chart trader on a 13 or 21 range chart, wait for the bar to end and enter. It should jump forward and give you an extra bar that either emulates a previous one or has no connectionwhat so ever on the incoming data.
I mean- I checked the historical data last time and it was all ok. It must be something to do with the way the chart operates when a chart trader entry is made.

                          Hello raycam,

I was able to test it twice today in between other cases, however I could not reproduce the issue so far. I submitted a market order as soon as a new range candle was created. Since I had to wait a long time for a new candle to be created for a 13 and 21 range interval, I used smaller range interval. Could it be it only occurs on a 13 and 21 range interval or should it not matter?

Could perhaps open a T&S window - it will not be as heavy on CPU/RAM as opening a 1 tick chart.
