SendMail()

I have been trying to use the SendMail() function but I receive the error in the log

"Failure to send mail: System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to remote server..."

I tried testing in the misc tab with everything blank and it says

"Failure to send mail: Failure Sending mail"

What should I try to do?

Please try plugging in your ISP's SMTP server login information. To get this information you can usually get it if you contact your ISP's tech support.

Ok so I entered in my ISP's settings and I have discovered that they have blocked port 25, so I am using 587 per their suggestions. Now I receive the error message

"Failed to send mail: The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was 5.7.0 No AUTH command has been given."

This sounds to me as if they require a username/password to be authorized to use SMTP. Please see if you can acquire this information from the ISP.

I changed the settings to use gmail and received a new error message, then checking the SSL box did the trick. The test email now works fine. Thanks for your help.
