Can't Select Previous Contracts To Optimize

Once you Roll a contract (ES 10-06 -> ES 10-09), there is no way to backtest or optimize on ES 10-06 from the Strategy Analyzer window. It has to be added back in again.

    * Please list the default instrumentss (as you do now), PLUS add the ability to select Any contract that we have data for. Very similar logic to how you allow us to Edit previous contracts.

This is as expected. You will need to add the ES 06-10 to an instrument list in order to be listed in the Strategy Analyzer.

    I will forward your suggestion.

      Hello Chuck,

You can backtest instruments not listed in an instrument list as follows. Right click 'on-the-fly' in the upper left corner and select Backtest. You will now be able to select the ES 06-10 again.

Reply - Your Suggestion Doesn't Work

I just now called up the Startegy Analyzer. Then right clicked on 'On The Fly'. Nothing came up that had anything to do with selecting another instrument.

The Only options that came up were Backtest, Optimize, and WalkForward.
These options are exactly the same as hitting the B, O, or W buttons.

Please select Backtest and the Backtest parameter window will appear. You will now be able to select an instrument on the fly in the Backtest parameter window.

            Still Does Not Work

I just updated to 17 and same thing. My screen does not offer any way to get other instruments that are not in my Default list!

            See the attached NT-Bug12.Jpg.

Please highlight the 'Instrument(s)' row and click the arrow pointing downwards. Subsequently set 'Type' to the instrument type you want and enter the instrument name in the 'Name' field.

Let me know if this will not work for you.
