Wong date and Crossed Code on same Chart?

    Hi folks.

Please view the attached image to veiw what I am experiencing.

    1st.
I am trading the Australian ASX and I have BHP on a daily chart which is linked to my Market Analyser.

The code the shows up is both the US and the ASX version in the chart. (ASX on the bottom part).
The daily chart also displays more candles of the US version and only a few candles of the ASX BHP version.

    2nd.
With regards to the date problem, well I have put the cross hair over what should be the current day (10th of June) and it shows the 11th of June.

Seems like something is not right here as I am getting mixed results with some stocks and everything is fine with others.

Can somebody please tell me what is the go here?? Is this a bug or a template problem or something?

    Hello studio88,

Can you please go to Tools-->Instrument Manager and search the BHP instrument. Highlight the BHP in the 'Available master instruments' section and click Edit. Check if the BHP is set up as the Australian stock and not the US stock.

Please tell me to what connectivity provider you connect in NinjaTrader.

What happens if you right click in the chart and select 'Reload All Historical Data'?

          Hi Jason,

Yes BHP is setup as an Australian Stock, like the rest of the other stocks done when importing a list of ASX200 stocks.

          My provider is IB.

I right click the chart and 'Reload All Historical Data' is greyed out so I cannot do this for whatever reason. How can this be enabled?

The other thing is, I can view a 5 min chart or a 1 minute and they are fine.

I had also deleted the list, recreated the list (saved changes along the way) and still no go. I think it is answer may lay with your reload data suggestion but dont know how to enable. I do remember first installing NT or the first chart I pulled up was BHP, so is there some sort of cache with the US data still in there attaching itself to all BHP daily's?

          Add question:
The other thing is also with the cross hair and the last candle date, it is wrong but not only on BHP it is will every stock.

Yesterdays candle is showing Today's date which means when market starts in 40 minutes, it will start drawing another candle for the 12th of June when today is clearly the 11th of June (at least now here in Australia anyway).

          Hope that makes sense.

          Cheers again.

Could it be you connect to a IB demo or simultion acount. Please note that historical minute and daily is only supported when connecting to an IB live account.

Please check if historical data is enabled as per your IB connection. Go to Tools-->Account Connections, highlight the IB connection and click Change. Check if historical data is enabled.

Yes, it seems the chart contains historical BHP US data. You can delete historical data via Tools-->Historical Data-->Delete. Subsequently create a new chart for the BHP and check if it loads all Australian BHP data.

Please note that candles are time stamped as per your PC clock when connected to IB. Can you please tell me what time zone is used on your PC. Does it make a difference if you set the time zone to the same time zone of the Australian exchange? Please have NinjaTrader closed while changing the PC clock.

              Hi Jason,

              1. I am definitely using IB account data, no sim, no demo (as I do also use minute charts).

              2. Historical data (use IB servers) is ticked on Market data.

              3. I have sorted out the BHP US version now, and deleted the previous data and chat is ASX and all showing appropriately.

              4. My PC clock is set to EST Australia, ASX and is synced with a time server as too is my modem so all ok there.

The only thing which i recently discovered with IB was that I have been logging into the IB US servers, I have made a request that I login to Hong Kong asia's servers which hopefully resolve this issue, this will not take effect until monday though.

Adding to that, to my surprise, the Default 24/5 session templates are only geared for US stocks/futures times as in Monday xx time to Tuesday xxtime for the week but finishes on Saturday, No wonder I was getting crazy markings.

Very disappointed that NinjaTrader really does lack some of the simplicity an that it makes users have to work their ass off to get the basics working, yet on the other hand provides some brilliant features with such high level diversity. Kinda like it was too simple to add in so lets just forget about the simple stuff hey.

It is like they just dont care about the simple things, simple and elegant things, NT just keeps building and building and dont worry about such easy stuff that average users get lost in a world of coding and dont even think about some basics. This also stands true for some of the colour effects on rising or falling values of prices + or -, that also seem to have to be programmed and IMO should be there by default like any other program with less functionality has.

Anyway, thanks for your persistence Jason, I appreciate it. And I am sorry to sound like a sour grape on #4 but I honestly at times the Cart is in front of the Horse here and I hope the actual people responsible for the management of this program take certain basics into consideration.

              Cheers again.

                Hello studio88,

Good to hear you now receive BHP-ASX data and you found the cause of the date timestamp issue.

Let me know if you need any assistance now that you connect to the IB Hong Kong servers.

Not at all - we appreciate that you provide us feedback on NinjaTrader. I will forward your comments to my superiors.
