    Global draw lines

If you have two charts of the same instrument, with the first a large timeframe like Daily, and the second say 15 minute, then the following happens with a Global draw object like Extended Line:
If the begin/end time of the global extended line is earlier on the daily chart than the earliest bar on M15 chart, then when you view the extended line on the M15 chart, all you will see will be a vertical line at the earlist bar.
I understand why this happens, but it should be corrected. For draw objects that extend in in on or both directions, the coordinates should be extrapolated onto the 15 minute chart so that the extended line can be seen in the proper place.

    Hello astrolobe,

I tested the scenario and I experience such behavior as well. I will forward your findings and suggestion to Development, so the extended line will be displayed properly in the 15 minute chart.

    Thank you for reporting.

      Hello astrolobe,

Unfortunately this is as expected. The object cannot be placed in the 15 minute chart, since the anchor points used in the daily chart do not exist in the 15 minute chart. Subsequently it will become a vertical line on the first bar.

Yes, but it can be fixed, right? Extrapolate the line forward, creating anchor points that will work in the M15 chart.

Currently I have to load many, many more bars into M15 so that it goes back far enough to see a Ray on the daily chart. With enough charts loaded at once, this impacts the performance of my charts.

          astrolobe,

It is not so simple as just extrapolating points. Unfortunately when the anchor points do not exist on the chart they have no location where they can be added onto the chart. We cannot just change the object's anchor points to be on the chart. That would change the object and impact all the other charts you may have the global object on. Then there could easily be situations when you simply cannot find a common denominator for where the anchor point could be to satisfy every single chart using the draw object.
