    Loading Data from 1800???

I had an issue today- first of its kind for me, I had the fairly regular "Ninja Trader has detected a problem and needs to shut down" When I reopened it my workspace had totally disappeared. SO I went about trying to set up the same charts again and although it says it is loading data - it is taking for ages! Then I noticed in the bottom area of the control centre that it is loading data from 1/1/1800?
    That has to be wrong!
So far no charts anywhere, 30 minutes...

    Hello raycam,

We are aware of the issue of data loading back to the year 1800. It seems to occur on currency futures only so far. We are looking into it to fix it. As soon as there is news regarding the matter, I will let you know.

However, eventhough it requests data back to 1800, the requested data is loaded in my chart on my end. Can you please restart NinjaTrader and close all windows except the Control Center. Connect to your connectivity provider and create one chart using an 1 minute interval and 5 days back. Check if the requested data is loaded. If so, proceed by opening other charts and windows.

      Yep that worked fine.
I am only trading 6E so that makes sense with what you were saying.
      Charts back to normal now.

Yes, the issue should be resolved. When I test it on my end, I do not see data loaded for the year 1800 anymore. It loads the requested data as expected.

Please let me know if this issue will recur in the future.

          Hi,

I am having the same or similar issue here with error message "error on loading chart data for '6E 06-10 Globex': Unable to retrieve data. The same 'loading data from 1800' thing occurs. Unlike the previous poster, I couldn't get historical data so far and but intermittent real time data so far.

Also have ES up and it's working as expected.

Is this issue on the server side or local client side?

            Hello sasuke,

Can you please disconnect/re-connect your connectivity provider and open a new 6E chart. It should not load data back to 1800 anymore, but load the historical data as expected.

Let me know if this will not work on your end.

Hello Jason, thanks for the reply. I did try a few things including restarting the application, creating a new workspace and chart etc. But at that time, none worked. I just tried again and it worked ok now. Seems it was a temporary glitches. Thank you.

                Hello sasuke,

When you open a chart the day after the rollover date AND before the starting time of the session template that is used, data will be requested back to the year 1800. This has been fixed for the next beta release.

Make sure the session template uses a start time before the current time on your PC to avoid it.

Sounds like that's my case though I am not sure about the last sentence "session template uses a start time before the current time on my PC". My session time is set to 3PM to 2PM next day for Euro/ 6E for Sunday to Friday.

In that case, you will experience the issue when a chart is opened before 3 PM (PC clock). Only when you open the chart after the session template starting time, it will not occur.

                        Hi,
Tried all the suggestions from above but none worked as yet. Initially when started for the day. had a blank 6E chart. Later after RTH, I restarted only to have the 1800 data issue. Tried the 1 min with different session template but still a blank template. Will this be resolved by tomorrow or will I have to wait till next beta?

                        Cheers.

                          Hello superarrow,

You should be able to load a 6E chart today. Can you please tell me if the issue still persists today.

I saw something along these same lines with TF 6-10 today where it takes very long to start up. I saw the "Loading data... TF 6-10 (1-1-1800 - 6/12/2010)". It did so for each of my three tick charts - all TF.

The problem is, when I close and restart NT7 Beta16, it takes a long time to bring up the charts, even before making a connection. Not a problem since this is a non-market day. This might go away when I rollover, but I figured I would report it.

UPDATE: This is listed as fixed in Beta 17 so I'll give that a try.
