    Incorrect "Previous Close" data

I am using Market Analyzer and have contract ZB 09-10 on it. According to the CME, last Fridays close was 124-12/32, but MA has it at 124-6/32. Also, using "Net Change" ,,incorrect

    Can this be corrected?

    Hello kenomalley,

    Thank you for your post.

Can you please tell me what data provider you are connected to within NinjaTrader so I may attempt to test on my end.

I look forward to assisting you further with this issue.

Unfortunately this is the data being sent from Zen-Fire and there is not a way to edit the Last price within NinjaTrader.

Unfortunately NinjaTrader will only display the values being sent from the data provider. I have attached a few screen shots to show the difference in data being sent from Zen-Fire then data from another provider such as PFG.

This will depend on the license key you are currently using. Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris" in the subject line.

In the message, please include the following:

You have to look at the data carefully. If you go on the group website of CME, you will find for ZB 09-10 on last Friday, June 4

                      - the close price (=last) was 124'06
                      - the settlement price was 124'12

On an intraday chart (data provided by Zenfire) it is impossible to display the settlement price, you will always get the close. So nothing is wrong, except that you confused close and settlement price.

The settlement price for ZB is the weighted average price of all trades occuring between 13:59:30 and 14:00:00 Central Time, so this is a price that is taken about two hours prior to the close (see document attached).

If you want to use the settlement price, you should write an indicator that calculates the VWAP of ZB during the settlement period from tick data, and then use it for the market analyzer.

Indicator is advanced programming and may slow down NinjaTrader, because it would use a separate system threading. So if you need the settlement price instead of the close, it would be the best solution to look for a data provider who actually transmits the settlement. But do you need it? Are you trading ZB? For index futures the settlement price is near-identical with the close, as the settlement period is the last 30 seconds of the session prior to 3:15 PM Central Time.
