Oh, I thought I'd nailed it. OK I'll try it again.

This time I had the SAs saved as part of the workspace, so on opening they came up straight away with the two different strategies selected with their default properties.

I ran one backtest. It finished.

I changed to the other and ran it.

I changed windows to the control centre to watch the status display count down time remaining.

I changed back when done and the window showed the results for the backtest of the 2nd strategy, but show the 1st strategy selected in the property panel along with all the 1st strategy's properties.

This must be the same issue that I saw when it appeared to muddle some of the properties yesterday. At one point I had two SA windows open with the same strategy selected, but using different property values. On changing windows, NT must have reverted the properties back to default, or over to the values as set in the other SA.

When I save two Strategy Analyzer windows in a workspace and restart NinjaTrader, the Strategy Analyzer will open with the strategy selected that is listed first (alphabetically). It does not open with the strategies I had selected the previous session. This is as expected.

I selected the strategies I want in both Strategy Analyzers and ran both backtests - one at a time. During the second backtest I selected the Control Center. However, once I select the second Strategy Analyzer, it does not display the parameters of the first Strategy Analyzer. It displays the same parameter settings.

Not only does it confuse the settings of the second SA with the first (in terms of which SA appears closest to the left hand side in the windows taskbar), but just now it changed the selected strategy in the first SA to be the same as in the second.

i.e. I have strategy TrendFollower007 in the first SA and TrendFollower010 in the second, and after doing stuff I just noticed that the first SA now has TrendFollower010 selected too, even though it is still displaying the results for TrendFollower007.

I shall carry on and post again when anything more becomes obvious.

Sounds good, please let me know what steps cause the strategy to be selected in the first Strategy Analyzer.

            Hi Jason,

            try this:

In a SA, have the properties panel pinned open.

Have the strategy open in a script window already - maximized.

            Open the Output window, maximized.

In the SA, select an instrument on the left, and set some properties on the right to other than default values. I'm seeing this happening to bool and int values. Run a backtest.

Now use Alt-Tab to change to the Output window and scroll up and down.

Now Alt-Tab to the script window and do F5 for compile.

Now Alt-Tab back to the SA and the values have changed back to their defaults.

              Hello adamus,

I see, I am able to reproduce this on my end as well. Upon further testing, the compilation of the strategy will set the strategy parameters back to default.

I am not sure if this is as expected behavior. I will send a note to Development for clarification and I will let you know.

OK, thanks. But that's only half the issue. If I discover a reproducible way of making two SAs change the selected strategy or properties, I'll give you the info.

                  Hello adamus,

Unfortunately this is as expected. When you compile your code, it will convert to the code defaults.

The parameters will not change if you save the parameters as default for the strategy in question (right click in the grid and select 'Set Default For XXX').

Let me know if you found reproducible steps that will cause settings in one Strategy Analyzer to be replicated in another Strategy Analyzer window.
