Could it be you do not have 100 60 minute bars available, so the strategy does not trigger any actions yet?

I suggest to create a 60 minute chart for the instrument in question and check if all requested 100 bars are loaded.

Good man. Got it going again if I reduced it from 100 to 75 bars.

So this whole issue is just a manifestation of the another problem, which is that downloading historical data from IB is beset with problems. But that's another thread.

My NT should have flagged this up! There should be a log or a message or some kind of status update to draw attention to the problem, rather than this relapse into a zombie-like mode where everything looks OK but nothing happens.

I was mulling over this whole problem last night after I struggled to get some strategies started for the Far Eastern session. NT7 has many highly useful features and functionalities, which is why I'm using it - but if I can't tell what's going on, then eventually it's going to frustrate me to the point where I abandon it, despite what it could do if only I could work out the problems.

You really need to get the developers to up the level of status reporting that is available. I don't know why they're shy of doing that. If needs be, provide a configuration to turn it off or filter it, but it's more important that the user knows what the situation is when money's on the line. I'd rather use something that's far less functional if it let me know exactly what was going on, rather than work with a piece of software that keeps me in the dark about problems.
