B16: Cannot switch data series/TF or load new charts

This is the second weekend in a row I've not been able to load a new chart or switch from one chart data series to another without the chart hanging up with the "Loading Data..." message. Other traders in my group are not experiencing this issue.

I'm on a 64 bit machine with Win7, 8GB Ram and a quad core processor, so I'm relatively certain it is not a hardware problem. I don't have this problem during normal market hours. The charts in my default workspace load their data just fine, but if I try to switch time frames on the same chart, it hangs (or seems to) and I must restart NT.

I've tried it on ES and CL with same results. It's difficult to do any backtesting on your charts when you can't easily move from TF to TF. Any fix for this?

    Hello Pipskateer,

Can you please tell me what indicators and period type you have applied in the chart. Does it make any difference if you switch instruments in a chart without indicators applied?

How much historical data is requested in the chart? Please tell me to what connectivity provider you connect as well.

I have also observed similar problems where the "Loading..." message comes but the chart is not loaded. I was working with TF, ES and CL after the market close on Friday.

Shutting and restarting a few times seems to have fixed the issue. On one occasion I had the "Saving...." message on the status bar. On some other times there was nothing.

      Data is coming from IQFeed.

        Hi Jason,

Correction....it only seems to be happening on ES right now, not CL. I'm pretty sure it was happening earlier on CL, but not now. I cannot load an ES chart of any data series, even if I select only 5 days of data.

I have no indicators on my charts. I am only using trendlines, fibonacci retracements, and some horizontal S/R lines. I have tried loading a fresh ES chart on a new workspace and it just hangs. Other instruments seem to be ok, but when I switch to ES, it all hangs up. I have no trouble switching from CL M60 with 60 days of data down to CL M1 instantly.

I am connected to Zenfire/Mirus live.

          Hello Pipskateer,

Can you please disconnect/re-connect to Zen-Fire. The historical data server was down earlier today due to maintenance, so most likely you are not connected to the historical server at this time. Re-connecting should resolve the issue. Please let me know if this is not the case.

I have done this already several times throughout the day, as each time my charts hang up I have to reboot and reconnect NT7. I did it again to be sure, and same result...hung up ES chart.

Now working fine again this morning. This seems to be a server issue over the weekends. Will post if it happens again.

Same issue appears again today, Saturday June 5th... charts won't switch between different time frames....just says "data loading..." every weekend...just like clockwork

ES and CL charts dead.... other data series seem to be ok

                  Hello Pipskateer,

Can you please tell me if the issue still persists today.

There was server maintenance last Saturday (7/5), so you would not be able to connect to the historical data server to load the requested data.

No, the issue disappears once the market opens. So, is server maintenance happening every weekend? Was there server maintenance this past weekend too?

There was no server maintenance this weekend.

Can you please send me your log and trace files for this weekend and tell me what time you created a chart. You can find log and trace files at the following locations.
