    Data collection went beserk

    Overnight and this morning I suffered several problems with the DSL connection and it caused IB TWS to lose its connection and re-login repeatedly.

    On checking the data I found that in some cases all the data collected yesterday had been seriously affected.

    I attach some charts of the worst affected.

    I guess the logs and traces will be useful for you.

      Hello adamus,

      Thank you for your post.

      Are you currently connected to a Demo IB account or a Live IB account where you have access to historical data?

      If you have access to historical data from IB please use the steps I have provided below to delete all the historical data for these instruments:
      • Disconnect
      • Tools
      • Historical Data Manager
      • Edit tab
      • Select each instrument-->Right mouse click-->Delete
      • Close NinjaTrader
      • Documents
      • NinjaTrader 7
      • Open the db folder
      • Open the cache folder
      • Select all files-->Right mouse click-->Delete
      • Open NinjaTrader
      • Connect
      • Open a new chart
      Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

        I am connected to my IB simulated trading account. That streams live data.

        Your solution for this situation is quite extreme. On my other machine which isn't connected to the feed at the moment fortunately, my HDM has 10 years of tick data which took several whole days to load.

        I guess what you will say next is that I need to back up my HDM and make sure I can restore it when this happens again.

        However what interests me is why this happened and what the likelihood is of it happening again. Do you have any experience with this?

        Thanks

          You may delete specific time periods of data by going to Tools-->Options-->Historical Data Manager-->Click on the + next to the instrument until you locate the time period that has been distorted.

          Next proceed to go to open the db folder-->Open the Cache folder and delete all files then reconnect.

          Unfortunately it is hard to say exactly what happened with the data when your ISP experienced issues.
