    missing chart data issues

    Hello,

The following is observed using NT7B15 (ran over a longer period)

I have used Gain Forex Data to run several strategies for about 5 weeks nonstop (24/7) on a win7 64 bit PC.

For performance reasons I did not have the option clicked "Save chart data as historical"

First of all NT was running stable for that time! Yesterday (24.05.) I accidently shut down the power of the PC and I am not sure if this is the reason why I am having some chart data issues now:

When I open a new chart, there are about 3 weeks of Data missing from 28.04. to 18.05. ! This applies for all kind of minute-ranged Data.
I tried resetting Simulation account: Data still missing
I tried repairing the Database: Data still missing
I tried resetting the Database: Data still missing

I restarted NT after repairing and resetting every time (not the computer though) - and the Historical Data still seemed to be somewhere in NT Database or memory, since it felt the Data was not "reloading" long enough - so I still got the missing Days in the chart.

After changing the Dataseries from minute-ranged data(where it ran before for 5 weeks) to Tick Data-ranged data, SOME of the missing chart data was "reloaded". And now the Gap is smaller (also in the minute charts) but still Data missing between 28.04 and 04.05.!

Connected problems: the historical performance of the strategies was totally messed up, since there were simulated executions (positions) before the 4 weeks of missing data which were stopped out at levels 4 weeks later. (at next available Data 18.05.)

After the shutdown I immediatelly restarted NT and the Strategies (which persisted)
According to settings (immediatelly submit live working orders) virtual entries were "simulated" - which led to a confusion with the positions before the shutdown.
After opening real time performance and taking a longer look at the "Graphs" Tab I observed the following: the green and red lines that connect enty and exit positions were confused, e.g.:
green lines were not beween enty and exit but between an exit and a new entry (enty /exit was stated and displayed correctly on the graph) - after some scrolling in that graph a red X appeared and NT error message that NT needs to shut down.

Maybe you fixed the missing historical chart data issue already in Beta16 +, if not you might want to look into it.

What do I have to do in order to make NT to reload properly corrupted historical Data? (Resetting DB seems not to suffice)
And why was it corrupted in the first place?

Edit: just found out: "Historical Data Manger" - "Reload all" did "repair" the chart - still would like to know why resetting the DB did not do anything to the historical chart Data problem!

masafi, thanks for the report - repairing / resetting the DB would not trigger a reload of data from the historical data servers. You would need to trigger with from the HDM with the 'reload' button or via right clicking on the charts for example.

To review what happened and the error message you ran into, please contact us via Help > Mail to Support so we can review the trace / log files from this install.

    Thanks
