Live (Demo) Trading for NT7

I know that NT 7 is still in beta, but I need to forward test a strategy with features not found in 6.5...Namely the ability to access account balance for money management purposes.

How would I get a trading enabled NT7? Needless to say, I'll be doing this with an Interactive Brokers Demo account until the RTM version is ready.

Hello yamdigger,

You can trade in simulation in NinjaTrader 7 using the free license key. If you like to trade an external demo or live account, you will need to have a live license - the free license is limited to trade the NinjaTrader sim101 only.

So, if I go through the web site to lease NT, will I have the option of downloading nt7 or will I have to get ver 6.5 and then use the licence key with seven?

You can download both NinjaTrader 6.5 and 7 without a subscription at the link below.

However, in order to trade the IB demo account, you will need to purchase a subscription. Subsequently you can trade the IB demo account in both NinjaTrader 6.5 and 7, but not at the same time. You can have both NinjaTrader 6.5 and 7 installed on your PC, however you can only run one at at time.
