    Heiken-Ashi removed from beta 16

I see data type Heiken-Ashi has been removed from beta 16. Why is that? Please restore it. Thanks.

    Hello,

Thank You for your Forum Post.

It is still there just we moved it back to being an Indicator like in NinjaTrader 6.5. To create a Hieken Ashi chart now create the chart you want the Hieken Ashi chart to be based from and then right click on the chart and select indicators. Then find the Hieken Ashi indicator and then apply it to the chart.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

      Hi Bret,
This is an additional question to EthanHunt's.
When heikin ashi was a data series, it means that other indicators ( e.g EMA ) were calculated based on the heikin ashi open close hi and lo values, right?
But as an indicator, it is only a visual overlay.
Are we ever going to get it back as a data series in future betas? My automated strategies show tremendous difference in perfomance by just the change of data series to heikin ashi.
Also, is it possible to import the zero lag hatema from nt 6.5?
      Thanks,
      Kiriru

I agree, I use HA for my trading strategies and would like it as a built in data series has it has been for most of the beta versions.

If you leave it as an indicator please allow for change of color to candle outline separate from wick. Right now the color is only available for candle outline and wick together (can't do different colors).

The HA has been removed due to inaccuracies that are unfortunately not resolvable as a bars type. Please use the HA indicator for correct HA values. Thank you for the suggestion for the wick color. Everything you did before with HA in a strategy can still be done with the HA indicator. All you need to do is access whichever HA value you wanted with things like HAOpen, HAClose, etc: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...eiken_ashi.htm

            kiriru,

You can still run indicator calculations off of the HA indicator. All you have to do is pull the HA indicator as the input series for another indicator. For example.

            EMA(HeikenAshi().HAOpen, 30)[0]

I am not sure what you mean by performance difference from changing HA to DataSeries. It should behave the same regardless of bars type or indicator.

For ZeroLagHATEMA you will need to consult the original author of that particular 3rd party script to see if they have it already converted to NT7. Otherwise you can try converting it yourself by addressing any code breaking changes that it may have: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...ad.php?t=21016
