    Multi-Time-Frame Mixed Charts

i am tried to use ticks and mins together on the same chart, both in the same panel and in two panels. the ticks never showed. is this because of something i didn't do or is it not possible under the current settings?

jupiejupe, which session templates are you using for both series? Are they the same and allow for the data to be charted for the session times they would define?

    Thanks

      89 ticks & 3 mins

not sure what you mean but, if i open a new chart and select the future contact "es 06-10" then i select the time frame of 89 ticks, after i set this up using default 24/7. then i add another time frame of 3 mins, also default 24/7.

only the 3mins charts. both with two panes and the two time frames sharing the same space.

        jupiejupe,

Sounds to me like you could be viewing a segment in time when you simply do not have tick data. I suggest trying to load a tick chart individually and see what data you have there. Then open the same time for the minute chart.

yes individually the charts are fine, both work as should (well almost) but the bars are working fine, some indicators 1 out of 5 are working fine together.

i also have 3min and 15min working in the same pane together no problems, also i have tried daily and 60min, they worked together. oh is there a way to have the charts in two panes but not be sync'd in time, as in 10mins and 60mins i do not need the larger time frame sync'd to the small time frame i just want to two charts side by side, with the bars nice and tight.

Please post a screenshot showing what you mean exactly so there will be no confusion. Please be aware that tick bars will not necessarily fall in the same location minute bars are at.

my bad that seems to be the the case as far as the bars and ticks on the chart are concerned. i set the display of the 3min bars to false, and have rebooted, but they set are displayed, so a made another pane and minimized that panel it works for now.

              Indicators:
all charts: i am using ema, ketlner, stoch and mama. all are showing up expect mama.
daily chart: the pivot is not showing up, as in the chart below the 15min.

                jupiejupe,

If you want to use Pivots on a daily chart you will need to use weekly or monthly pivots. You will not be able to use daily pivots on a daily chart.

I suggest you check your Control Center logs for any errors related to MAMA. Please check your MAMA settings as well. They are working on my 1min chart with default settings.

it do not like being set to infinite, once i reset it to 256 bars it's fine.

also any idea why on the 89tick chart and with the 3min charts, why the 3mins bars set to "false" for the "display in data box" the bars are still charted? i only want to use the 3min time frame for the stoch indicator.

                          time frame:
also i do not wish to have the ticks scaled to the 3mins time frame, i have switched auto scale to both true and fasle and see no changes in bar chart.

Thank you for the report on the MAMA indicator. We will take a look.

"Display in Data Box" is not a setting for whether or not the bars will be charted. That is just for whether or not the values will be shown in the Data Box that you can bring up with Ctrl+D hot key.

When you mix two time frames together you are now using non-equidistant x-axis. This means the bars will be spaced on the exact timestamp of their bar. For tick charts since they are timestamped unevenly based on whenever the bars close it will be spaced accordingly. There is no way around this when using multi-series charts.

                              thanks josh,
                              the mama indicator:
did not like the infinite setting when i switched it back to 256 it charted, the logged error message, said something to the effect that there was an error on bar four.

                              timeframes:
auto scale? what is this for then?

                              display in data box?
i set the bar colors to transparent, as i only wanted the 3min time frame charted so that i could run a indicator on it, during the 89tick. i am looking forward to viewing the chart with the tick spaced out as such. it will be viewing tick via fixed time frame.

my main concern is will each tick bar have 89 ticks in it?
