Calling up a chart from the Control Center's Account Performance Trades tab

When I am looking at the trades tab in Account Performance, and I have a trade which was executed by a strategy that runs on 60 mins bars, I can right click on it and bring up a chart for the instrument, but there are 2 problems:

    - the chart is in 1 min bars and the buttons to change it are greyed out

    - the trade isn't shown on the chart

Do you have any plans to change this?
    Thanks

    Hi adamus,

    Thank you for your post.

1.) " the chart is in 1 min bars and the buttons to change it are greyed out"

Currently, this is as expected. I will, however, forward your request for a change in this on to my development team for further consideration.

2.) "the trade isn't shown on the chart"

Have you, by any chance, defined a default chart template where the plotting of executions is disabled?

      Hi Kyle,

I didn't knowingly define any template.

I call up charts and save my workspace and do stuff in the Strategy Analyzer. I wouldn't recognise a chart template unless it bit my behind.

        Hi adamus,

        Please open a new chart.
Next, right click in that chart and select Data Series.
On the right side of the menu, ensure that 'Plot Executions' is set to 'Text and Marker', then click OK.

Back in the chart, right click, select Templates > Save as Default.

Finally, re-run the Account Performance test and let me know if this trade still is not showing up.

          Hi Kyle

after following your instructions I now have 2 issues! Both related.

I didn't need to set the default to show the trades, it was set like that already I see now since some trades are showing up - but not others. For instance, a trade from 13:00GMT+0 is not present on the chart, only the trade which closed just 5 minutes previously.

I have attached an image of the chart. As you can see there, the trade period dotted line is wrong, it's not continuing now, it's over. I think it's got confused while trying to synchronize after I reconnected.

The problem is that there is no data going back to the time period when the trade occurred. If I click on 'reload historical data' then the trades will disappear - so still not possible.

OK, it's in the mail. By the way, when you read it you'll see I said the DB is 4.5 gigs. That's wrong - windows hadn't finished reading the file sizes. It's now 11 gigs. I think it's stopped.

i've just noticed that if i do the same from the 'executions' tab, it brings up a chart with the trade, with the markers and text but not my default chart time of 60 mins, only 1min.. but at least i've now got the trade on screen..

                      matt..

                        Matt,

When you bring up the chart via sending it to the chart like that it will indeed use 1min time frames. Thank you for the suggestion.

                          Hi newbouldm,

In the other case, this was due to NT listing the close time of a bar rather than it's open. For more information, please see the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h..._are_built.htm

If this does not explain the behavior you are seeing, please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

In the message, please include the following:
1.) A link to this forum thread.

2.) Your most current trace file:
You will find the trace file in the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
The trace file would be named 'trace.YYYYMMDD.txt'

3.) Images of your chart showing the execution(s) in question.

3.) Images of those same executions in the Account Performance tab of the Control Center.

                            Hi Kyle,

do you have any news about this topic? I have the same problem and I like to analyze my trades by opening them through the account performance window. Right now this is still not possible. First I had the wrong template I guess. So I did what you suggested in Post #4.

Now when I open a chart through the Trades-Tab, I get an empty chart (candles and price are there of course) with no executions at all. There is no way to change any settings in this chart, since it is all grayed out. When I open the same chart as a new chart with the default template, I see the executions, but the doted lines are still missing. Any ideas?

I just made a trade with that chart from the trades tab still open. I get to see the latest trade I made (still without the doted lines), but still and of course not the historical trades (they weren't there before too on that chart). When I open this chart again on the Trades-Tab, the chart is empty again.

There seems to be a problem with historical trades.

And again, when I open the chart as a new chart with the default template (File-New-Chart), the trades are there, without the lines.

                              I use NT 7.18
