Fixed Range - how to make set it like 6.5

I loaded NT 7 last night and I've spent many hours now setting up charts and getting accustomed to NT7 basic functionality.

I'm sure there are many things that I will discover and love about NT7 but, of course, in this initial ugly duckling stage of learning, I'm mostly frustrated.

    I'll start with this question....
NT7 has this feature where it creates a fixed range when you pull down on the right vertical price column on a chart. Is that helpful to anyone? It just seems annoying to me.

Is there a setting I can change to get it to act like NT6.5 when I pull down in that same vertical price column?

    toddaclark,

Fixed scales has been a highly requested feature and as such it is added in. There is no direct replica of 6.5's behavior, but what you can try is right clicking in the y-axis margin and then selecting Properties. From there you can add a upper and lower margin for your chart to "squish" the chart like how it was in 6.5 and persist the automatic scaling.

      Josh,

Creating a fixed scale works for the data currently in view on my chart but if I scroll back, the fixed scale obviously causes the price action to disappear from my screen.

Is there a way for your team to create a scaling condition setting choice which mimics what I have in 6.5? I really think the 6.5 scaling technique is good and would love to have it to use in 7.0?

        Todd,

What is available is to use the margin settings of the chart. Set your Margin lower and upper to some thing greater than the default of 3 percent. That will mimic 6.5 behavior when you scroll back.
