beta 15 consistent crashes

many times in a row the following happens?

1. start NT
2. connect MR
3. load strat
4. run strat no problems
5. change start code...compile
6. rewind MR
7. crash....return to 1.

i.e. it only works once ...each time I get attached error

StackOverFlowException is a strong indication that there is something wrong with your strategy. Please try to reproduce with SampleMACrossOver.

I suspect NT bug because it you eliminate step 5...i.e. do not edit code....then you can rewind and replay the strat as many times as you like without error/crash

seems like an issue with the editor/compiler and MR to me

Please proceed as per my post below since editor (coming from 3rd party vendor) and compiler (coming from Microsoft) very unlikely will cause any form of StackOverFlowException (which usually is a strong indication of some bad recursive code).

2. open SampleMACrossover....save as SampleMACrossoverTest (so it can be edited)
3. connect MR for 15 jan 2010 NQ
4. load and play SampleMACrossoverTest
5. no problem
6. compile SampleMACrossoverTest without making any edits
7. rewind and play
8. crash

When you make a change and compile the SampleMAStrategy do you do this while the strategy is running or do you disable the strategy make the change, rewind and then add the strategy again?

I do not disable the strat

so it is enabled on compile and rewind

I have done this same procedure thousands of times so unless there was a change in 15 that should not make a difference

When you rewind does this then disable the strategy and then you have to re-enable it? This is how .15 works and as such In my testing I was unable to cause any crash using steps you suggested. I would recommend upgrading to Beta .15 and see if this resolves the issue.

Per title "beta 15 consistent crashes" I am using 15

With all recent beta releases, if you enable and run a strat...and then pause and rewind MR with the strat still enabled....the strat will persist (auto disable and enable)...you can then play no problem

I am now unable to reproduce...will advise.

Bottom line, it was crashing on each rewind using SampleMACrossoverTest code so issue is not my code.

Understood. Will continue to test on my end however in my testing I found that the strategy is disabled when you apply the strategy to a chart when you rewind, and that the strategy stays applied when you start the strategy from the strategies tab. I will refer to development with these finding to see if this is expected or if we have a bug here and will get back to you.
