    Chart - Not updating

    I am currently running Ninja 7 beta 15 on Windows 7 64-Bit. My charts are not updating as the price changes. My ladder is working just fine. Any idea on why chart are not updating?

    1.) Which data provider are you using with NinjaTrader?

    2.) Which instrument are you viewing that shows this issue?

    3.) Please right click in the chart and select 'Data Series'. In the Data Series window, please let me know what value the 'Session Template' property is set to.

      Thank you for the prompt response. Please see my response to your questions below:

      1.) Which data provider are you using with NinjaTrader?

      Zen Fire

      2.) Which instrument are you viewing that shows this issue?

      I noticed it on the ES and the YM.

      3.) Please right click in the chart and select 'Data Series'. In the Data Series window, please let me know what value the 'Session Template' property is set to.

      It is set on <Use instrument settings>

      Also, shortly after making this post I had several large bars start printing on the ES. I am using a Heiken Ashi tick chart and the printing started right at the open but I had no pre-market movement included this AM. I am sure I have a setting off here that is causing this.

        Hi Jim,

        From the sounds of it, the earlier data may have been excluded based on your session template settings.

        Please open the Data Series menu again and set the Session Template property to 'Default 24/7'.

        This setting will ensure that the entire 24 hours of available data are charted. Please let me know if you continue to see the same behavior with this template in place.

          Kyle,

          That seemed to fix my issue! Thanks for that.

          However, at the bottom of my ES chart it states the following:

          "Loading of daily data is incomplete. Please reload daily data or use CalcFromIntradayData"

          Any idea on what is causing this?

            Hi Canon54,

            It sounds like an indicator would be triggering this message.
            If you could post an image of your chart, I should be able to further advise.

              Kyle,

              I figured it out - it was one of my indicators.

              One last unrelated question I have for you. On the right axis price scale, is there any way to have it plot the price for each .25 increment for the ES?

                Hi Jim,

                Yes, it is possible to configure this scale.

                Please double click on the price axis in your chart to open the Chart Panel Properties menu.

                In the Chart Panel Properties menu, configure the scale you would like to use via the 'Horizontal grid lines interval type' and 'Horizontal grid line interval value' properties.

                  Kyle,

                  Perfect, exactly what I wanted! When I drag the price axis it allows me to have a price level plotted on the screen, i.e. 1151, 1151.25, 1151.50, 1151.75, etc. However, this of course takes away the auto scaling. Basically I just want to have the actual price on the screen at each tick. Is this possible or will I lose auto scaling?

                    Hi Jim,

                    In most cases, the auto-scaling would be lost. (unless the range defined aligns with auto-scale at the moment)
