    Reggy,

A second install to a seperate folder will not change your setting or start you over. Since all of the settings for NinjaTrader are stored in your My Documents Folder->NinjaTrader 7. As such both installs to both folders will access the same folders.

Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling the indicator. This will allow you to debug the indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader compiles all indicators and strategies- not just one.

    Open NinjaTrader
From the Control Center select the Tools menu--> select the Edit NinjaScript menu item--> select Indicator
Select an indicator and double click on it.
A new window will appear and you will need to right click in the window and select Compile to compile the indicators.
At the bottom of the window a new section will appear were you can find the error locations.

From there you have the option to remove the indicator or debug it.
Let me know what errors are listed here. Alternatevely you have the option of deleting any indicators that are listed here or debuging if you are a programmer.

Thank you for your quick response. I have walked through the steps that you have outlined, and have included screenshots of a couple of error messages. Please see that there are no errors shown in the LaGuerre indicator window, also the same is true for the BetterVolume2 indicator.

How to remove the dependencies that prevent the indicators from being deleted? I'm not a programmer and have no clue how to debug this. Next step may be a fresh install if nothing else works.

      Thanks again for your attention.

        Reggy,

A complete uninstall and reinstall in this case may be the better option. I will include the next step for finding what is referencing the indicator so that you can remove that first or you can complete the uninstall and reinstall.

You will need to remove the reference from the other indicator or strategy first before you will be able to delete the file. This error is most likely is coming from a strategy or other indicator that you have created.
There are two ways to deal with this, one you will need to delete the strategy or indicators that you have custom coded first that has the reference to this indicator, the other is to find the reference in the source code and delete the reference out from the source code and recompile the the strategy or indicator. You do this by opening the indicators or strategies source code that may have the reference and right clicking on it and selecting references. Use the delete button to remove the reference to your indicator file if it is there.

There is no other easier way to find the file that is referencing it, you simply have to check each one of your custom indicators and strategies if you don't remember which one you added the reference too.

Alternately you can do a Complete Uninstall and Reinstall.

1.) Backup: (DO NOT backup your ninjascript files or the problem will return)
Please create a backup of your settings using the steps listed at the following link: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ABackupArchive

You will also need to save a copy of your license key. You will find the key listed in the Help > License Key menu.

        2.) Reinstallation:
After backing up, please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader:
        1. Close all running applications.
        2. Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
        3. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 6.5 and click Remove.
        4. Then manually delete the folder "NinjaTrader 6.5" located under Start --> My Documents.
        5. Reboot your machine.
        6. Once these steps are completed, download NT6.5 from the link below:

3.) Testing(Very Important as in some cases restoring the backup could restore the settings/corruption and cause the issue to crop up agian.)
After reinstalling NinjaTrader, please test and see if the issue persists.

        4.) Restoring Settings:
If the issue does not persist on the clean installation, please restore your settings using the steps listed here:

After restoring your settings, please test again and let me know if the issue pops up.
