    Possible Historical Data Manager Bug

When I was exporting historic data, I performed the same export a second time and your application asked me to overwrite the existing file (correct.) I get the attached error message (bug.) The second issue is the message text has a typo (bug)...

    Error Text: 5/4/2010 8:37:04 PM|3|4|Unable to create file 'C:\Users\moflaherty\Desktop\ES 06-10.Last.txt'

    Hello moflaherty,

Can you please tell me what exact data you export when you experience the error. I tested exporting the same historical data on my end a few times, however it exports successful each time.

Are you able to produce the error consistently?

Thank you for reporting the typo in the error message as well.

In addition, what error is reflected in the Log-tab?

The screen shot shows my selections (ES 06-10 - Last - Day 4/27 to 5/4) and the log showed exactly what the log text showed: Unable to create file 'C:\Users\moflaherty\Desktop\ES 06-10.Last.txt'

I will try it again tonight. However, I did recreate the error numerous times. The first text file created did have the data I was looking for, so the operation worked originally. This error only occurred when attempting to overwrite the file with the same data.

I see, thank you for clarifying. Using that exact same data, the error does not occur on my end when the text file is replaced. Please let me know if the issue persists tonight.

Try deleting the existing text file first and subsequently export the same data multiple times and check if the error persists.

OK, I see the problem. I had imported the text file into Excel 2010 and that locks the file. However, your Historical Manager does not recover gracefully at all. It stays in a disabled state. Also, as stated before, you might want to spell check the message box.

While I am here, you might want to fix this typo everywhere too. You use the words "can not" when it should be "cannot." I chuckle every time I see that in your dialogs.

          Thanks!
