FancyBarTimer Compile error

I'm getting a compile error when trying to run "FancyBarTimer" in Ninja Trader version 7.

the compile error is on this line of code,

&& Bars.Session.InSession(Now, Bars.Period.Id, true))


The error messages are:

The best overloaded method match for 'NinjaTrader.Data.Session.InSession(System.DateTim e, NinjaTrader.Data.Period, bool)' has some invalid arguments

Argument '2': cannot convert from 'NinjaTrader.Data.PeriodType' to 'NinjaTrader.Data.Period'

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Taddypole,

Unfortunately .InSession is not supported. What you should do is just check the session begin and end times and make a comparison to your current Time[0].

Unfortunately i'm not a C# programmer and really don't know just what the code is trying to do. Here's more of the code from "Fancy Bar Timer" found in the Indicator File sharing section. Any further help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately you are using a lot of unsupported methods and properties. I suspect you got this code from somewhere else, in that case, I would recommend asking the original author what their code is doing.

I really don't understand the code well enough. If I pursue this, it will take me some time which don't have at the moment.

I'm not much of a programer but I managed to get it to work.

Import it using NT6.5. Find the file in the NT6.5 folder and then copy it into the same NT7 folder. Open the file in NT7 by Tool>Edit NinjaScript> Select "Fancy Bar Timer"

Press F5 > go to the error line and just delete it > press F5 again and it will compile.

Now it works.

FancyBarTimer for NT7

I have now posted a version of the FancyBarTimer for NT7.

You can find it here.

Please don't use the NT6 version to make your own version for NT7, or at least don't share it. The modifications I have seen people do so far will not properly work in all situations (within session, playback etc).

Thank you to all that informed me that the NT6 version did not work for NT7 (which is still in beta so I don't use it).
