Chart not updating correctly

The session setting on the chart is set to 'Use instrument setting'. All of the instruments are set to US RTH.

I paid attention to TNA: it seemed to update sporadically, seemingly irregular pauses. Perhaps 5 minutes, sometimes maybe 5 seconds. This was in comparison watching the action on SD which appeared to be normal. Toward the close of market TNA in NT seemed to be behaving just fine.

Not sure if this is important, but I am using IB as the primary (non-historical) and TDA as the secondary (with historical).

Day Trading Fool, we've been trying to reproduce this but have been unsuccessful so far. Would it be possible for you to lay out the complete set of steps that gets you to the static charts?

I just set up a TDA and IB connection with TDA historical and IB real time. Then I connected to IB first and TDA second. As far as I can tell, the Market Analyzer and charts are updating correctly (for TNA, TZA, FTBK, and a few others). I have a feeling this could be an issue only during market hours though so testing this now probably won't show what you're seeing.

This may or may not be related but around 3:45PM EST today I had QuoteTracker open and connected to my TDA account and it was updating very slow and I actually also noticed that the last price was lagging behind the bid/ask (but only for a few seconds, not as much as the charts you posted above). Are you sure the prices are coming from IB and not TDA?

I assume the prices are coming from IB, it is connected first.

It happened again today with AIG. The 'Last' price on both the chart and MA is stalled. I am not sure what else to tell you. Seeing the ask/bid go crazy and far from the last is usually what alerts me to the problem. I confirmed the price on TDA's SD today.

I suggest trying to simplify the setup here for getting a reproducible scenario. Can you please try with only one data provider connected? Also, having bid/ask updating and not last is not an issue by itself. I suggest having a T&S window for the instrument open as well so you can view the last events as they come in as well.

Please inform us if there are any other patterns to look for e.g. time of day, etc. Please also provide us with the instruments you are using. Thank you.

As indicated, the times and insturments do not seem to be related.

I was having problems with the TDA connection today so I started another thread. Somone kindly pointed out that the TDA data stream is currently not compatible with NT 7 B!4. I wonder if perhaps that is the root for a lot of my problems. Tomorrow I will try without using TDA at all.

Though waiting for the IB pace error window to finish with the historical is pretty annoying...

I managed to get a screen shot off this morning. NT 7 was only connected to IB. JEF last was not updating in MA or chart. Ask and bid were. TDA's SD and IB's TWS both showed last prices that agreed and NT showed a large discrepancy.

Just happened again on ANR. This time chart trader actually filled an order when I moved the stop down graphically. The stop went to 48.28, but the order filled at 48.13. See attachments.

Day Trading Fool, thanks for those screenshots - lets just stick with one symbol for testing and isolating out.

I'll use ANR here, please remove it from the default if it's on.

Then enter the Instrument Manager and ensure Default and NYSE are checked for this symbol under Exchanges, also ensure Default 24 /7 sessions are set so we get all available date, RTH + ETH.

Now move ANR with the Default exchange selected and use this symbol from now on for

a) 1 min Chart on instrument session
b) the Control Center
c) Market Analyzer with only this symbol on instrument session (right click properties to check)

== > the exact same setup does not show any discrepancies here for me testing with TWS 900.6 - please report back your findings with this exact setup as above.

No worries, can you please test exactly as I outlined with IB only connected, so we can circle the issues in through simpligying to the min?

There was just good movement in your RDN for example, chart, MA and Control Center Level 1 kept up perfectly for me with my setup outlined.
