NT7 fails to launch

    NT7 fails to launch

    I have repeatedly attempted to launch NT7 today (Saturday). The startup window appears briefly as usual then disappears. This is then followed by a notice that flashes briefly every 60 seconds or so with the message "Connecting to Price Servers..." But the application never launches.
    I am running Windows 7, NT7.14, and connecting to MBTrading with a forex account.

    Anyone know what is happening? If the launch requires the connection to Price servers, does this mean I cannot enter NT7 until MB gets its price servers online?

    Thank you for your post.

    Which version of the MB Trading Navigator are you using?

    Also, is the MB Trading connection set to 'Auto-connect'?

      I am having the same issue but I have it auto connected to Trading Technologies.

        I am using 11.5.0.5. I do have it set to auto connect (if that means it automatically connects upon launch). I also have it set to launch Navigator.

          I just tried again with similar results. Only this time I don't get the connecting to server message. But the last message I see is 'trading is temporarily unavailable for this account". Looks like an MB message, but why would it stop NT from launching?

          Also, if I go to task manager it shows a Ninja task (not sure which one) so I shut that down manually with Task Mgr. before I shut down computer or try to relaunch.

          Also tried uninstalling NT and reinstalling.

          I also launched the MBT Navigator on its own, and it seems to launch successfully.

          I will check with MB also.

            It's the same. It's definitely MBT issue, I remind it appears sometimes, when using MBT Nav standalone. But of course NT should somehow treat it. Until a solution comes, I recommend not to use "Connect on startup" option.

              After the market opened this afternoon, I was able to launch NT. Apparently, it has something to do with the MB quote or other servers being online ??

              Any suggestions on how to handle this? If I would like to access NT after market hours, should I set the login on manual? If so, where is this setting?
              Also, if set on manual will this cause a potential problem if the connection is lost and I am not around to manually reset? (I experience several short connection losses from the MB quote server each day)

                  Thank you for your posts.

                  billr and xTrader1,

                  Per the MB Trading connection, I am currently able to connect on my end as of 6:55 PM EST on Sunday the 26th. If you are still not able to connect, please let me know.

                  Should this occur in the future, you can overcome this by moving the config file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 folder to another location, then restarting NinjaTrader. This will, however, require you to re-enter your license key and reconfigure your connection.

                  If this continues to be a problem in the future, please disable the auto-connect feature for the connection.

                  I am currently able to connect to TT. Please restart NinjaTrader and let me know if you continue to run in to the same issue. Likewise, if you are receiving an error message, please let me know what that message reports.

                    Again , I recommend not to use "Connect on startup" for MBT until the issue is solved. See Tools ==> Account Connection==>Change and disable "Connect on startup".
                    In any case if something goes wrong with a connection, you should exit and restart NT to connect again. No reconnect option. But regarding MBT, if connection is lost temporarily the MBT Nav reconnects itself automatically.
