    Chart Scaling

In 6.5, if you put the cursor on the Y Scale and expanded the chart, the price bars would not go below the visible extent of the chart. In 7.0, the chart will go below the screen making it difficult to configure the chart so I can easily see indicators and plots.

I am sure there is a way to overcome this, but I have no idea how to do it. Is there a setting allowing me to do a vertical range along the Y axis similar to 6.5?

With the default settings, if that is correct, every time I try to expand chart vertically, I just lose the chart to the below the screen. I have to scrunch the X axis to see the chart. Doing that kind of defeats the purpose of expanding the Y axis.

Can't really use the charting feature the way I want to. I am sure there is an adjustment. Please explain.

    Hi rtj4201,

    Thank you for your post.

To keep your chart bars always visible on your window please right mouse click witin the Y-Axis-->Properties-->Range-->Set to Automaitc-->Click Ok.

Once you adjust the Y-Axis after this setting has been applied it will be switched to Fixed which will allow bars to plot off the visible screen.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

I have already tried the automatic setting. The vertical scale still seems to expand from the horizontal centerline of the chart. So, when I expand along the Y axis, it pushes the bars above the screen range. To get the expanded view, I lose the bars out of sight.

Like I said, I have to compress the X axis which defeats the purpose of expanding the Y axis.

      Must be doing something wrong.

In 6.5, I could center the bars in the center of the frame.

With these settings, it forces the bars to the bottom of the frame.

          This new behaviour is expected.

With NT7, when you manually change the y-axis scale, it changes from automatic mode to fixed mode. In fixed mode, you are setting the upper/lower threshold of the chart. Only this range will be visible and if the current bar travels outside of these boundaries it will be off screen. The manual y-axis scaling as you are used to in 6.5 no longer exists although, we did add user defined upper/lower margin in automatic mode. Which is a round about way of getting what you had in 6.5. This is accessible via the new Panel Properties window accessible via right mouse click menu in the y margin.
