    On the first run of NinjaTrader 7 there is an option via a "Migrate NinjaTrader Data" pop up window to migrate some of prior NinjaTrader settings over.

    If one chose not to migrate at that time, is there any way to make the option run again later, short of uninstalling and reinstalling Ninja Trader 7 ?

    Yes, please exit NT7 and go to the MyDocuments\NinjaTrader 7\log and delete the Install.xml, then restart NT7 fresh and you should be prompted again for migration.

        finding no option to migrate data

        Hi,
        I have existing nt 6.5 and I just installed nt 7.2b. After installing, I launched 7.2 but did not get any popup to migrate data. I followed the advice on this thread and removed the install.xml file from MyDocuments\NinjaTrader 7\log and restarted nt7 but still did not get the popup. A new Install.xml file got created which was the same as the one I removed, and was basically empty:
        <NinjaTrader>
        <Install>
        <Migrated>2010-09-06 11:55:04</Migrated>
        <Version_7_0_0_20>
        <ClearedCache>NinjaScript editor cache cleared</ClearedCache>
        <Date>2010-09-06 11:55:04</Date>
        <CompiledCustomAssembly>2010-09-06 11:55:11</CompiledCustomAssembly>
        </Version_7_0_0_20>
        </Install>
        </NinjaTrader>

        What is going wrong here? Could you give me manual steps here for equivalent data migration (copy items xyz from abc location in 6.5 to 7, etc).

          soulartist, welcome to our forums - strange that the removing the install.xml did not help, were you doing this with NT7 closed down?

            Hi,
            I had closed NT but the process was still alive. Worked after killing the process
