Thank you for your answer , I actually feel relieved that I will still be using my 6.5
With NT 7 .14 , I hate the fact that I do not have my Heiken ASHI bars on tick charts , they somehow do not work together , if I try to run my tick chart alone the chart stays blank and does not load , there is no error message , it's just blank ..nothing in it ..
Anyways , I will keep using my 6.5 for now , I am sad that I do not like NT7 because I am soo used to everything in Ninja now

The fact that the chart is blank and does not load implies that the connection you are using does not support historical tick data or there is a bug in which case we would want to analyze further. If you wish to help, please refer back to Bertrand's post #2 with the questions that would help us out.RayNinjaTrader Customer Service

It is a shame that NT's version of HeikenAshi is different from any other charting package. When you load a HA chart, using tick data, the first 3-4 bars are a cummulative depiction of however many bars there would have been since the previous close....Search for HEIKEN and see Bertrand's response to my question.Originally posted by sousou View PostThank you for your answer , I actually feel relieved that I will still be using my 6.5

sousou,
Every new session restarts the chart and you will get this due to the way HeikenAshi's are built. You can see the same behavior in 6.5 at the very beginning of a chart. In 7, if you don't wish for this on every single session break you can create a big session template that goes Sunday-Monday. Then you would only have 1 session break per week instead of ~5.
Alternatively, please try importing this indicator and use it like the 6.5 style.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service

ok I installed HA indicator , on 150 ticks , and when I wanted to load a different instrument on the chart , ninja gave 1 errors and shut down , this is getting frustrating , I am definitely not happy with this version at all , you should look into this as soon as possible , nobody would want to trade live using this ,

Just does not make sense to have to use such a workaround. Why not have the creators of the HA chart style fix their mistake? Make it work the way every other charting package works, and every other type of NT chart works. Importing an indicator is not a very elegant solution either.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Josh View Postsousou,

Josh, your solution to the problem with the HA chart behavior would result in 2-3 bars encompassing the whole week from the start of the session to whenever the chart was reloaded, system restarted, indicator added or any other circumstance that required a shutdown of NT.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Josh View Postsousou,

Also, I got the same result as sousou when I imported and loaded the HA indicator you suggested.
Is NT going to fix this problem, or are we stuck with a bar style that is unusable? HA charts work properly for time based periods, and tick charts work with everything except HA. Why can't NT make them work together?

blaporte,
The indicator provided is the same solution provided in 6.5. 6.5 you used an indicator. That indicator has been provided. For the issues using the indicator, we will look into it.
sousou,
As far as the Assert Fail, can you please provide me with steps to reproduce? This is what I tried.
1. ES 06-10 150 tick chart with default session templates running for 3 days.
2. Add HeikenAshi
3. Used toolbar on the chart to switch to NQ 06-10 --> chart switches and no assert fail on my end
What may you have done differently? Thank you.
Edit: Disregard. Was able to reproduce and will look into it. For now, I have pulled the indicator.Josh P.NinjaTrader Customer Service

7.0 was supposed to be an improvement to 6.5. We were told we would have HA charts. I think we all assumed they would work. For those of us that trade with Tick charts this is disappointing. I know we can use an indicator, but we should not have to.
All we are asking is if NT is going to try to fix the problem, or are we being told that this is it, that's the way the HA/Tick chart combination is suppose to work and nothing more is going to be done on the HA charts.?
BTW, your suggestion for a huge template, for a weeks timeframe would only work well if I opened the chart on Sunday night and never closed down my system until the close on Friday. This is surely not how most traders use the system. Of course, if I have misinterpreted what you meant, please advise.
Thanks
