global draw object getting changed in lower timeframe chart

    Support,

On NT 7 beta 14, I noticed that when a global draw object ray (like a trendline) is drawn on a higher timeframe chart like 60 min chart (with the trendline initiation point A about 10 days ago) and made global. And then, when a lower timeframe chart like 30 sec chart is loaded for like 3 days, the slope of the trendline is changing slightly on the 30 sec chart. When the 30 sec chart is loaded with 10 days( so that it has the initiation point A of the global trendline), the slope of the global trendline shows fine. Would be nice,if the slope of the draw object gets preserved when the 30 sec chart is loaded with only 3 days of data. Can you please address this problem.

Both 60 min and 30 sec chart are using 24/7 default session template.

I tested the same situation with 10 days of 60 min chart with a trendline and 3 days of 1 minute chart and the slope translates correctly onto 1 minute chart, even when it is loaded for only 3 days. But with the case of 30 second or any second timeframe, the slope of the global trendline is translating incorrectly when the chart is loaded for only 3 days. The slope is getting translated correctly, only when the chart is loaded with 10 days of 30 sec data.

    Thank you

    mmtrader,

The slope of the lines will differ depending on the chart loaded because of the varying number of bars being shown.

When your draw object has an anchor point 10 days ago and you load a 30 second chart that is only 3 days back one anchor point is simply not even on the chart. NinjaTrader would then have to "guess" as to where it is located and this behavior may be exhibited. You should try to load your chart to accommodate the anchor points of your lines to get the most fidelity out of the draw objects.

Thanks for clarifying Josh. But, surprising thing is that it is working fine on a lower time frame chart like 1 minute chart (with only 3 days loaded). But not working on a 30 sec chart with 3 days. Appears that the NT slope guessing feature is not working correctly on 30 sec. The global draw object is an excellent feature introduced in NT 7. Would appreciate, if someone can take a look at why this is only working accurately on 1 minute and other timeframes but not on a seconds timeframe chart like 30 second.

      Thank you

        mmtrader,

First picture is the global line with a 3 day back chart on 1min. Second picture is the line with a 10 day back chart on 1min. When your anchor point is not in the range of the chart whatever the line draws is only an estimate. There is no guarantee they will turn out with a specific slope as seen in my screenshots.
