CL-06-10 data flawed at open of NT7 app

Hi NinjaTrader_Kyle for the historical data for zenfire how far back does this data go on your servers? Can you get this data on NT 6.5 or just 7? how do you merge all the front month when requesting the data to make it a continuous contract?

This varies by instrument, but most of the commonly traded futures contracts would have over a years worth of historical tick and minute data.

2.) "Can you get this data on NT 6.5 or just 7?"

Historical data for Zen-Fire users is available in both versions.

3.) "how do you merge all the front month when requesting the data to make it a continuous contract?"

In NinjaTrader 7, this merge would occur automatically based on how many days of historical data are requested in your chart.

Thanks for the quick response NinjaTrader_Kyle, I tried to merge CL 05-09 to CL 06-10 and I still don't get data past about 3 months? I have attached 2 pics to show setting to see if I have setting right.

Hello geotabs,

You will first need to load the full historical data for both the 05-10 and the 06-10 contract before merging if you intend on using version 6.5.

Again, this merge would occur automatically in NinjaTrader 7.

NinjaTrader_Kyle, so i would have to merge 05-10 and the 06-10 and then merge 04-10 and the 05-10 and so forth to get all the way back to the 05-09? As for NT 7 I have tried this out but 1 indicator I use called the TSSupertrend doesn't work, so I will stick with NT 6.5 for now.

Hi geotabs,

You would need to merge those contracts, but in the opposite order.

For example, the 05-09 contract is merged in to the 06-09 contract. The 06-09 contract is then merged in to the 07-09 contract. (and so on)
