Status bar only on Control Center window

Hi

just wanted to point this out since it seems illogical: I can only see the status bar on the Control Centre window when I carefully resize the window that is running an optimisation for instance.

I think this is fairly easy to improve. I shouldn't have to carefully resize my windows to see the status bar, or even change windows at all.

I would definitely like to propose a good solution, but at the moment all I can see is the problem

I am not very creative when it involves the user interface - although I am good at other things in IT.

I think you are right that there should be a progress bar in the same window which is processing, either SA or HDM import or anything. Anyway the window must be changed to disable the user controls while processing, so you might as well add a progress bar there like a download or unzip window.

Hi Bertrand,

this issue is really something I'd appreciate a lot if it were fixed. I am constantly switching backwards and forwards between windows because the status for the Strategy Analyzer appears on the Control Center - and I also end up resizing the Strategy Analyzer window so that I can see the status on the Control Center underneath - however it is almost always pointless since I open and close other windows frequently which then hide the status again.

Do you have any idea if it has been accepted and will be resolved?

Unfortunately we are currently not adding new features as we are using all of our development resources in stabilizing the platform first. After we are done with that and get NT to a production state we will then be able to reevaluate our feedback list and see what we can do. Thank you for voicing your thoughts.

Hi,

just had some inspiration regarding this issue which I brought up a while back.

I realise you're not implementing new stuff now with your drive to get NT7 out of beta, so this is one for the future.

The notification area on the task bar could be used for the NT status messages.

Take for example the Skype notification icon which does stuff when you receive a call, or the email notification icon which floats a kind of speech bubble with the email text inside.

Using the task bar notification area would free the control center window and it would allow me to leave the control center hidden behind my charts or strategy analyzer even when I'm interested to know what's going on.

You could channel loads of stuff through there and have a little cache of all the recent notifications that pops up when you click it.

I hope this helps - sounds like the solution I'd implement.
