    Loading Data over weekend

Often on saturday or sunday I would like to do some analysis. The probelm I have is that often, like today, I will open ninja and some or all of my charts do not load their data. It appears like the historical data servers are not serving data or something of that nature.

If I shut ninja down and wait until sunday evening then the charts and data seem to load and everything appears fine.

I have save save chart data as historical checked.
I tried both get data from server (if avail) checked and unchecked.
I even downloaded historical data for the futures contracts i am trying to look at and none of these setting, or having the historical data downloaded seems to do any good.

What can I do to get these charts to display properly over the weekend.

I am using ZEN-FIRE as a data provider.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

Mark, I suspect that the settings for your chart just don't allow for any data to be shown. Please try increasing the "days to load" value to something like 5 or 10 days and setting the session template to Default 24/7.

I am very familiar with "session templates" and "days to load"
While I do not know all of the features of ninja, I am far from a beginner and have been using ninja for almost 2 years and the beta 7 app from early in the beta program. I use 24 hour sessions and load 15~45 days worth of data depending on the chart.

Frequently ...on Saturdays... I open ninja and I get "loading data" on some of my charts. Some of the charts have data displayed. These are the SAME EXACT charts that I would have used for trading throughout the week and that had data on them when I shut down ninja on friday. I am using beta .14 ...and this is a CLEAN install after uninstall and removing "ALL" ninja directories. This issue is not new to this build. From my discussions with others that are using V7, this issue is not unique to me.

I opened ninja 3 times yesterday with the same result. When I exited I did not save. When I got up this AM I started ninja and all of the charts that would not load data yesterday. . . opened and were populated with data. This exact problem occurred also on March 27th . . . Hence, my question.

Because, now . . . If I KNOW I am going to be doing analysis over the weekend it is easier for me to leave my charts open / ninja running. It seems that on very often on Saturdays the historical data is not available from the servers. And this results in a significant level of irritation if I close ninja or restart my computer on the weekend.

I had a similar issue yesterday (Sunday), after installing V7 b14 and starting to recreate charts in workspaces. When connected to Zen-Fire, an ES chart showed incorrect data for last Friday. If I disconnected from Zen and connected to DTN IQFeed, the chart updated and was correct. If I disconnected from DTN and went back to Zen, the chart updated again back to incorrect. No clue if this was purely a Zen-Fire issue or a Ninja/Zen-Fire issue; but that's what occurred. (I considered running 6.5 and doing a complete reload of charts as a comparison. But I figured there was at least some risk of messing things up, if this is purely a Zen-Fire issue. So I left well enough alone....)

Sat AM - Refresh Histrical Data Fails

          I started ninja 7.x.14
          Charts drew fine.
On CL 06-10 (Default 27/7 sessions & display 15 days historical data settings in data series)
          right click RELOAD HISTORICAL DATA
and the app is stuck "loading data" on that chart.

This is a very common problem on weekends and slight variation on the issue originally posted in this thread.

          Why is this happening?

          Please see attachment.

Please delete your CL data with the steps I have provided below:
            • Disconnect
            • Tools
            • Historical Data Manager
            • Edit tab
            • Select CL
            • Right mouse click and select Delete
            • Reconnect
            • Open a new chart

Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.
