NT7 - Beta 14 - 10 NT Developed Indicator Compilation Errors

Hello:

I am an NT6.5 user that just installed NT7 Beta 14. Upon migrating my indicators to the correct directory and attempting to compile them, I receive the following error twice in 10 NT developed indicators:

The name '_indicator' does not exist in the current context.

The NT indicator names are as follows:

@ADL, @ADX, @ADXR, @APZ, @Aroon, @AroonOscillator, @ATR, @BarTimer, @Bollinger, and @BOP.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Solution - NT7 Indicator Compilation Errors

Hello Josh:

The problem was due to running NT6.5 prior to installing NT7. I just rebooted the computer, started NT7 and was able to compile all my indicators and strategies.

Might want to add a FAQ to reboot computer if NT6.5 is in use prior to installing NT7.

Interesting, but there should be nothing significant to running NT6.5 prior to NT7 as you can have both installed and they are actually two completely independent programs. What is more likely to have been an issue is something with your migration process. Can you please describe what steps you took for this? Did you use the migration tool or did you try to migrate files manually?

Migration Process

Hello Josh:

Here are the steps I used:

- Exited NT6.5
- Installed NT7 beta 14. Allowed NT7 migratation tool to move everything from NT6.5.
- Manually copied all personal NT6.5 indicators and strategies to appropriate NT7 locations.
- Started NT7 and used Tools - Edit NinjaScript - Indicator to load one of my indicators.
- Clicked "Compile" icon and the errors occurred.
- Rebooted computer, restarted NT7, and everything compiled properly.

Thanks for the information Tony. I will have a tech member check into these steps and see if we can reproduce.
