Normal trend channel tool still missing from v7? Surely not...

I have just downloaded the public beta of version 7 and it appears than ordinary trend channel tool is still not provided in the drawing tools drop down.

I really cannot understand this. IMHO it is probably the most important tool after the humble trendline. The only way of producing a non adjustable channel is by copying and pasting a second line and thereafter manually adjusting each line. A real pain and a time waster.

The Gann Fan is included. The Fib circle is included. Both not greatly used certainly by any trader I know. The regression channel has always been is there - great - much more useful but does not always "hit the spot" as a normal channel does.

There have been so many requests over the years for this tool. Every other charting platform I know has it. Please, please include it in production release.

Thank you for your comments. We do indeed have this on our feedback list, but unfortunately we are currently past the stage for adding new features for this beta. Our priorities right now are to stabilize NT7 and get it to a production release.

The feature can theoretically be programmed by a developer, but would probably require a bit of effort.

Yes, almost every trading programs out there have the normal channel tool, and I am surprised that it still hasn't implemented in NT7. Possible to add it in the final release?

there is a nice free channeling tool i once found on elitetrader for NT 6.5. think it was made by a guy named pepe.
maybe someone else can point to the download link.

The channel tool is included in the zip archive from above link amongst other stuff.

mind you, the thread above is continuing for another 40 pages or so, so there might be a newer version.

I've found a relatively quick and easy way to draw clean custom channels with anywhere from 2 to 8 parallel lines and created a thread for it. I think it'll allow you to do what you're looking to do until development creates an actual channel tool. Hope it helps:
