    Snfe Session Manager

    Hi

Looking at the default time for the Sydney futures Exchange (Snfe) & ASX in the session manager NT has it listed as (GMT +10) Brisbane time. But this is incorrect. It should be Sydney Time as Brisbane doesn't have daylight saying during summer but Sydney does which is the time the exchange uses.

Which then raises another question about Session settings. What happens when daylight saving does kick in and Sydney time becomes GMT +11? Do we have to change the session manager times every time there is a local change that does match our computers clock?

Tremblinghandtrader, I've notified the product manager of the incorrect time settings.

As for your second question, I will have someone respond on Monday.

Tremblinghandtrader, thanks for spotting thise one, it should be Syndey time correct - we'll adjust in out next update.

Edit: Please clarify what one thing for me - according to the link below both Sydney and Brisbane are using AEST - http://www.worldtimezone.com/time-australia.htm

Which is what we use in our session setup.

The .NET framework would generelly handle the time differences as needed for your local PC set timezone vs the ones defined for your products charted / traded.

      Thanks

They have the same time now but during summer they will not. During Australian summer time the southern states, Sydney NSW, Melbourne Victoria, Tasmania, Canberra ACT, South Aus, will have daylight saving while Brisbane Queensland doesn't. And it is NSW Sydney time that the exchange runs on.

If you checked 2 weeks ago that site would show that Brisbane, QLD was 1 hour behind, Daylight saving stopped on the 4th of April.

I am curious as to how daylight saving is addressed in NT7 ?
Daylight saving came into effect over the weekend and as Tremblinghandtrader pointed out during Australian summer time the southern states, Sydney NSW, Melbourne Victoria, Tasmania, Canberra ACT, South Aust, will have daylight saving while Brisbane Queensland doesn't. And it is NSW Sydney time that the exchange runs on.
The Session Manager shows Sydney and Brisbane with the same time zone of GMT +10:00 whereas there should be an hour difference during daylight saving.
As I live in Queensland, is the only solution to create new Session templates ?

Hi Eric, this is handled internally in the .NET framework to provide conversion as needed, NinjaTrader would take your local set clock as reference for the charts and it's operation - if you work with the default templates for your market are you seeing any issues?

                      Hello Bertrand,

If I use the standard template "Snfe RTH", the first hour on the charts is missing as the template 'Start Time' is 9.50am and the actual market starts at 8.50am (daylight saving).
The only way I have been able to get around this was to create another template specifically to take into account daylight saving.
I just thought there may have been another way around the issue.

                      Eric

                        Eric,

To clarify, are you saying your session template is indeed set to Sydney timezone, but you are still missing an hour due to daylight savings? What timezone is your PC clock located in (Sorry I am not familiar with Australian geography to know where Queensland is in)?

                          Hello Josh,

My PC Clock is set to Queensland time (see map) where we are 1 hour behind Sydney time.
The Session Manager shows Sydney and Brisbane with the same time zone of GMT +10:00 whereas there should be an hour difference during daylight saving - There is no difference whether I set the session manager for Sydney or Brisbane.
By creating a new template with start and end times to cater for the hour difference, I have been able to get around the problem.
Just thought I may have overlooked something.

                          Eric

                            Eric,

Would it be possible if you sent in a note into support [at] ninjatrader [dot] com with your login credentials so we can try with the SPI instrument on our end? Thank you.
