Historical Updates

Hi,
is there a way to download Historical Data
for a futures contract just by listing it in the Market Analyzer
in a list other than the Default,
or you would have to be running a strategy on it, to ensure
that the Historical Data are there.
I am trying to do the Rollover as described in NT, where you
remove one month from the Default List and you click the next month
to the list, and then the software calculates the offset once
you put a daily chart on with the new month.
(I notice that data in the Historical Manager are not there,
and you have to directly download them)

Hello trend,

I suggest to download historical data via Tools-->Historical Data Manager-->Download-tab.

You will need to add an Indicator column in the Market Analyzer for historical data to be loaded into the Historical Data Manager. Data is loaded for the instruments listed in the Market Analyzer regardless of what instrument list that is selected.

to make sure, can you run several Market Analyzers?
Is there a way to set a title to each one?
Also, in regards to th rolls once you replace the instrument's
month in the Default List and make a Daily chart, would the offset
be set automatically for the added month?

I am not sure if I follow, what do you want me to make sure?

I tested a Market Analyzer twice without an Indicator column and no historical data was loaded into the Historical Data Manager. Only when I added an Indicator column, it loaded data in the Historical Data Manager.

Unfortunately you cannot set a title for the Market Analyzer window.

What do you mean by offset? Once you set an instrument to a new expiry and Merge policy is set to merge data, you will load the requested data by the chart.

Meant to run different instrument lists into different
market analyzers.

My understanding is that in order
for the software to calculate the offset, when Merge policy is set,
you would have to put a Daily chart up for the New contract and
ask to Reload Historical. Would the Indicator in the MA collect Daily data
as well?, or, you have to export the minute data and ReImport them
with "Generate Daily from minute" option set?

If you told your indicator column to run on daily data then it will use that in the MA, otherwise it would use minutes if you have it set to minutes.
