Using unmanaged Orders

Hi

I have just tried enabling a new strategy on my Live account (Mirus & Zen Fire). My strategy uses unmanaged orders and everything appears to be working from looking at the chart and my logs but I get no actual live orders. I also have a strategy running against my SIM101 account at the same time.

I have tried entering live orders manually using basic order entry and this works fine.

If I right click the Startegy Performance -> Historical & Realtime everything looks in order.

If I right click the Startegy Performance -> Realtime and look at the executions the order Names show as "Virtual Entry Execution"

I have a Log containing the fill confirmation from the OnExecution method :

any ideas what is happening here?

Lloyd, we currently do not advise to trade live with NS strategies on the beta - http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/nt7Beta/ - see point 2 from the 'Critical issues' please.

Have you seen any issues witout the unmanaged approach? Are you looking for it to autoreverse for you using the Enter() methods as the regular order handling mode?

The virtual execution is added once you start the strategy up for realtime trading, it would be listed as the last (still open at point of starting up) trade carrying over from historical data.

I have not used managed orders in NT7 at all due to the fact the I want to manage 3 profit targets attached to each of my orders. I ran into issues using NT 6.5 with managed orders and this is what prompted me to try NT7 unmanaged orders.

I have to say it is doing exactly what I need and the back tests are producing the results I want other than I am not able to specifically match up the entry and exit signal names as I would like to. I believe NT7 is using a FIFO methodology to handle this, my code however tracks the entry and exit orders as I would like and provides me with my own version of the, orders and executions report.

So, is it the case that Live Trading is "not enabled" from Ninja Script strategies in NT7 right now or just "not recommended" ??

Thanks for clarifying LloydH - it's enabled however not recommended to be used right now, one reason is NT7 is still beta and thus you could run into bugs and other is we've seen cases where order amendments where not working as we would have expected.

It would be helpful if you could direct your logs via the Help > Mail to Support feature to me so I can review further.

I rebuilt my NT installation from scratch yesterday using BETA 13. I loaded and enabled my strategy live and it works fine now, the orders are being submitted.
