    a question about Session Manager

    Hi,

The new features added in NT 7 include the new Session Manager, about it I need to clarify something.

Regarding to changes in the different time day light saving done in every country, when developing a strategy with time fixed (I mean starting at a known hour) and with the session based in a Time Zone (the local one) is there any needs to develop special code to avoid differences in time between the instrument country Time zone and the Local Time Zone?

Or it's all handled by the GMT session defined with the instrument?

    Thank you

    Hello joanNT,

This is handled by the GMT session that is defined as per the session template.

      joanNT,

To clarify, you will definitely need to code adjustments to your time zones if you live in one where it may influence you. For instance, if you are in Europe it has a period of a few dates where the DST may be different than the US exchanges. That means what may have started at 10PM for you may now be 9PM or 11PM. This needs to be accounted for in the code.

The Session Manager automatically deals with this in terms of displaying bar data, but if you are actually doing things like if (ToTime(Time[0]) > 120000) or something like that you will need to be mindful of DST.
