I am running NT7 connected to the IB TWS.
There is a problem with the connect sequence when NT7 is started before IB TWS is started. If I use the connect command inside of NT7 it attempts to automatically start the IB TWS and feeds it the username and password.
TWS does start but the login screen has the username and the password exposed and concatinated into the username field. The login then fails as you'd expect but more importantly, the password is shown in plain text.
If you subsequently enter the login information in the correct manner, then attempt to reconnect, the login attempt times out and automatically restarts the login sequence again. The only way to recover is to kill NT7, complete the login connect sequence for TWS then restart NT7 and simply connect.
This issue has been compounded recently since IB implemented additional security protection where users need to enter additional codes from a security card. This card system is somewhat clumsy as you need to read two sets of numbers from the screen then enter codes from a plastic card before continuing. Your login sequence does not allow sufficient time to do this before restarting the login sequence.

Paul
