If I close all connections and try to open a chart for an instrument with no historical data, there isn't any kind of warning/note that I need to connect to a connection. I just get a blank screen. I think a warning/note would be more helpful.
In general, I think NT is a bit to silent on all kinds of errors (basically, all the stuff support has to request people bring up the output window to see). They don't need to be obtrusive modal dialogs, but some kind of iconic note on the chart when clicked that optionally pops up the full error/warning details would be just fine.
