    Hotkey Manager Issue

    Hello

There's a minor issue in the Hotkey Manager that I find very annoying:
In the default settings, the "Alt & F3" combination plots a down arrow and the "Alt & F5" combination plots a diamond. When I accidentally hit "Alt & F4", the current chart suddenly disappears (it is not minimized, it's gone).

I tried to change the default configuration in order to have a diamond plotted when I hit "Alt & F4" instead of "Alt & F5", but it doesn't work and there's the following message:
"Alt & F4 is not a valid shortcut"

This is not an optimal situation in my view.

    Thanks

    Hello laocoon,

Unfortunately Alt + F4 is a Windows shortcut; it will close the active window on your desktop.

I am not aware how to disable this shortcut. However I did a search on the web and it generated the results at the link below.

      Thanks for your reply.
Now it makes more sense to me.

        Hi Jason,

In NT6.5, Alt + F4 generates the Diamond drawing object. This has moved to Alt + F5 in NT7.0. I know that Alt + F4 is a windows shortcut, but obviously you managed to override that in NT6.5.

Since I use Diamonds and I am used to using Alt + F4 for that, I have closed several chart windows by mistake. After doing some analysis on a chart than can causie wasted time.

I understand that you may want to make the standard Winidows shortcut available. What I would suggest is that you generate a confirmation pop-up before actually closing the window. I have seen this in other applications.

        Regards, Tim

          Hello Tim,

I will forward your suggestion to Development and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations for the software.

          Thank you for your feedback.
