    Hi,

    No not everytime and no I don't know what I did differently. I just ran an optimization with the optimization window in view, then minimised the RDT and then went back to it about 10 seconds later.

    I'll make a video for you when I get a second, I have fraps which should do it.

    It not big deal for me as I just work around it by minimising the optimization window before leaving RDT, but I thought you would like to know about the issue.

      I see. Unfortunately in order to further troubleshoot the issue, we will need to have a reproducible scenario to further analyze and find the cause.

      I suggest to use the workaround you found to avoid it from recurring for now.

        I'm having the same error here - for me, it appears when starting strategies.

        The latest data loads, NT gets stuck on "Saving", and nothing else happens. I wouldn't be too concerned to maybe wait for the "Saving" process to finish, but apparently this messed up process blocks all the others. When opening a chart, for instance, I don't get any data at all into the new chart and NT tells me I'm either disconnected (which is not the case) or outside session times (funny with currencies).

        Please help, this is really a nuisance.

        EDIT: Ah: for me, this currently happens on the ZC 07-10 contract.

        EDIT2: ZM 07-10, too. ****...

        EDIT3: Fixed the issue for the ZM contract by reloading historical data on the chart for the last 10 days and enabling the strategies afterwards. The same attempt did not work for ZC.

        EDIT4: Here comes ZS... same issue...

        EDIT5: Created a fresh workspace with no charts whatsoever. Tried just connecting to IB and starting the strategies. What happens is I get the f*cking "NinjaTrader has detected a problem and needs to shut down." message for NO reason. This is f*cked up. Damn stupid unstable tryout software. Will send the e-mail to support and wait for the "we couldn't reproduce on our end" message.

          Hello noincomenojobnoassets,

          Can you please tell me if you tested 3rd party or custom strategies. Do you experience a difference when you perform the exact same test using the SampleMACrossOver strategy?

            Hi Jason,

            Sorry for being annoyed before. Vince replied and said he'd take it up to Lvl 2 team.

            Haven't tried it on SampleSMA... yet, since I spent all morning getting the real trading setup to work. Will try later today or tomorrow.

              Hello ninjna,

              I see, I suggest to work with the level 2 person regarding the issue. Let him know the outcome of testing the SampleMACrossOver as well.

                Yes, I still have the issue with NT getting stuck on "Saving", then once you abort and reload the charts end up with big chunks of data missing, repairing and even resetting the DB dosn't help. It is very frustrating, I have spent many many hours wasted on it. It happens when you hit the IB historic data download limit when opening NT, but has also happened during connection loss with Gain servers. I have 4 installs of NT7 and 3 of them have been broken from this issue.

                Unfortunately support indicated they will not support me as I run an up to date version of IB's TWS instead of the old version of TWS that does not work properly.

                I live in hope that the issue will be resolved very soon.

                  I don't think this "Saving" has anything to do with IB. I've been getting it a lot lately and I use zen-fire. It sucks. I have to kill ninja and restart. I guess I have no choice but to try out the NT7 beta.

                    Some more data, I just reset my database yesterday and I'm trying to load 1 day of tick data. That's not too much to ask. Yesterday it happened when loading gold, today FESX. I don't know what else I can do if I can't even open a chart.

                      Hello cunparis,

                      Can you please tell me to what connectivity provider you connect.

                      Do you have any indicators applied in the chart? If so, please try to load the chart with data only. Once all data has been loaded, please apply your indicators and check if they display as well.

                      Could it be you experience an error when you create the chart? Do you see anything in the Log-tab for the time you created the chart?

                        I give up on nt65 and I'm testing nt7. so far with the same indicators nt7 hasn't crashed once.
