    backtesting

    Hi,

When backtesting, if I set what parameters I want, and then change the strategy from the drop box at the top, all the parameters get reset and I have to reenter what I want. In 6.5 I think they stayed the same even when I changed as the last parameter which strategy I wanted to run.

Also, the close backtest box doesn't work, if you open it to run a backtest but then decide to close it, you can't and would need to actually run the backtest to get rid of the box.

The speed is greatly improved. Thank you..

    Thank you very much,
    werido.

    Hello werido,

Yes, this is as expected in NinjaTrader 7. The parameters will remain for the strategy you setup. If you select a different strategy, it will use different settings (setting you setup for that strategy the previous time). If you now select the initial strategy, you will see the parameters you setup for the inititial strategy.

Unfortunately the X button does not work. If you like to hide the Backest window, please move your mouse away or select something else in the Strategy Analyzer and it will be docked.

The thing is that the date (from: - to: ) and "exit on close" setting always revert back to (from: 01/01/2010 - to: present date) and "true" even when I go back to the first strategy that I was testing and had those parameters set differently, it will be back to those same settings so I have to keep changing the date and "exit on close" whenever I switch strategies to test even when switching back.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

        Hello werido,

Unfortunately this is as expected as per the dates and 'Exit on close' settings.

However, you can right click the parameters and set the value you entered as default. It will be saved upon switching strategies in the backtest window.
