    4 cores vs. 6 cores

Would having a new 6 core processor from Intel (Core I7 980X) make a difference vs. having just 4 cores (Core I7 960) when it comes to backtesting and running live?

How much faster would backtesting be on this new processor?

Also, how much faster is the Core I7 Quad Core vs. Core Duo when it comes to backtesting?

    Thanks

I likely makes no difference on running live and backtesting one instrument. It will make a difference on optimization and backtesting sets of instruments. Unfortunately we would not know how much faster it would be.
